If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

07-11-24 Elizabeth is a lovely Chow who has come from a home to find a loving home as her owners felt they could not give her whats she needs. We are told she has been clean in the house but may of course have accidents in her new home. She is fine with other dogs and is a typical headstrong chow. She could be homed as an only dog in the right circumstance or with other dogs. She can already walk on a lead and enjoys a good fuss. She is loyal to those she knows and wary of those she doesnt so she will need some time and patience as she settles in and gets to know her new family. She will need regular grooming with that big teddybear coat. She is a sweet girl with lots of love to give and will need a Chow experienced home.

20-11-2024 UPDATE

I have been working with Elizabeth very closely and in all honesty, she has nestled her way into my heart. Being a Chow, she already has a hard time at the kennels because they aren’t the typical breed people look for. However, once you let one into your house you very quickly realise that you’ve been a closet Chow lover this whole time! This beautiful little lady found herself in kennels abruptly and was very weary of new people but after a few days she’s showing just how willing to love she really is! I can’t walk past her kennel without a smile on my face and finding myself drawn in for a cuddle due to the way she gets so animated when she sees me. Yesterday we shared an out of rescue experience and I took her for a walk and with the weather being so bad we stopped for a coffee and cake. The whole time she just relaxed next to me, not making a noise, and even greeting other dogs was a pleasant experience. Having a naughty reactive Collie of my own it was really just a delight! We ended up winding down the day with a bath and a blow dry and yet again she just sat there and made it incredibly easy. If you have a Chow savvy home and you’re missing that little spark in your life look no further than Elizabeth!

15-12-24 UPDATE

Beautiful Elizabeth has been in foster with us for 4 weeks, and she’s been such a sweetheart. My favourite thing about Lizzy is how loving she is. She’s a real snuggle bug. Always up for a cuddle and not afraid to ask for one. My second favourite thing about Lizzy is her waggy tail - she wags her fluffy little tail frequently these days and it’s wonderful to see her so happy and relaxed. She has been incredibly easy to look after so far. She has a 100% clean housetrained record since being here, and has clearly asks when she needs to go outside. She walks on the lead very nicely without pulling and eats her dinner like a champion with no bother. She has been a largely quiet dog since arriving. I’ve heard her bark from excitement maybe twice and she occasionally whines when excited for a walk, but other than that she has been pleasantly silent. If you have space in your life (or on your sofa…) for a furry friend then consider sweet Lizzy - she has so much love to give! She has now had entropian surgery

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
