If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

15-10-2024 Bobby Beans is an absolutely beautiful boy that has come to us from a home through no fault of his own. He really enjoys the company of other dogs and so will be looking for a home where there is another kind resident dog to be his friend. He has lived with children before and so could live with older dog savvy children. He is an excited guy that loves attention and a fuss! He has shown that he walks on a lead quite nicely, and as he did come from a home he may be house trained but may need additional work in his new environment. Beans is such a great boy that is looking for a loving home to give him another chance, as he is the epitome of an energtic chocolate lab, but is so sweet and loves a good bum scratch.  He cannot live with cats.

05-11-2024 UPDATE

As we've been working with Bobby Beans, we are learning more about some behaviour issues he has. Bobby's separation anxiety is one issue, the other is Bobby being reactive to other dogs while on a lead. On the good side, Bobby Beans is an adorable lad who loves to cuddle in and is super affectionate. I know that Bobby can be worked with to overcome his issues and will end up a well-rounded boy. We're working on his pulling on a lead, and being reactive on a lead, but it's difficult to work with his separation anxiety in kennels. What were looking for in Bobby Bean’s future adopters is people who have dog experience and feel that they could help him by working with his separation anxiety and building up the time he can be left. We would love to see him able to relax while his new dog parents are out, or in the garden, or even just in another room. Bobby Beans really is a great lad and once he's settled a bit, you can see his cuddly side. He has a great zest for life, and being a Labrador a good appetite which really helps in training him. Do you think you can offer just what this special boy needs?

12-11-24 UPDATE
Wow, Bobby is doing so well, he's really turned a corner this week and is not how I described him in the previous update. I've been allowed extra time to work with Bobby Beans and it's paid off. Bobby now walks well on the lead, walking by your side, he does pull a bit initially and we'll keep practicing. I've learnt to get him calm before we do anything and I think Bobby has now settled into kennel life and is not so anxious. I can go in and out of his kennel without him panicking, by just getting a sit and giving a treat. Now that he's calmer, Bobby isn't getting wound up with when seeing other dogs, I just calm him, get him to sit and now Bobby doesn't react, he met a lovely Vizla today very politely. Bobby shares his kennel with a male and today they both played chase in our big sand school yard. Bobby has also shared a kennel with a female who was a bit dominant to him, but he just took it in his stride. So, you can see that Bobby has really progressed, but is still a work in progress, and will need continued training to polish these skills. I'm so much more positive for him, now knowing the real him which is a typical choccy lab, lovely, cuddly bubbly
