12-09-24 Little Ian is a poodle who has come from his breeder to find a loving home. He is a lovely boy with a waggy tail who is full of curiosity. He will come forwards in  his kennel to investigate us but when we go to touch him he will dash backwards as she isnt too sure about us just yet. If we wait patiently and get down on his level he will slowly come back to us and will start to relax again. He has come in with sore ears that our vet is treating but he doesnt want his ears to be touched as they hurt at the moment. His ears show signs of having been sore for some time and so you will need to be mindful of this and get him any treatment he may need for them in the future. Ian has had multiple teeth removed by the vet too which he is managing well with. 
Ian is a poodle so is naturally super clever. He is looking for a home that is calm and quiet with someone who understands poodles and who has a kind resident dog at home to help him adjust to home life for the very first time. He needs a cat free home.  He will need lots of patience as he learns new skills such as house training and how to walk on a lead but in time he will relax and start to bloom. 

Ian is the sweetest little boy! I met Ian for the first time today and he was a delight. When I entered his kennel he would jump all over me wanting attention and love. Every time I would stroke him you could tell he was loving it, at the start he would be a bit mouthy from excitement but after cooling down he didn’t do it and would just enjoy the fuss. I can see that he has progressed massively from the last update, such a clever, brave boy!
We have also discovered that Ian can walk on lead/harness! I took him for a walk and he was such a well behaved boy, he wouldn’t leave my side and walked amazingly the whole way. How can you say no to that adorable face!

27-09-24 UPDATE
Ian has definitely come a long way since arriving...he was nervous and hand shy and recoiling when you got near. He has definitely adapted to kennel life. Very curious and playful in every way. He is 6 but acts younger at times. He just loves play and cuddles, petting. He has got a funny little naughty streak in him, but totally manageable - it’s fun to see such a character. He has bags of energy so will need plenty of exercise and training along the way. Walking on lead is is a work in progress but he is very clever so I believe it won’t take him too long to get the hand of it. If you have a nice secure home, nice walks and the energy for a beautiful lovely boy, then do put an application in. He is definitely ready to move into his forever home, so a resident dog will be necessary to teach him and befriend him, so he continues to thrive and learn. He is just a brilliant, super boy and I'd love him to find his forever family.

We are pleased that Ian's ears are so much more comfortable now that he has had several weeks of ear treatment. They will need to be kept clean and plucked to hopefully avoid future infections. Poor Ian has been in so much pain from these infections that he is quite sensitive around his ears and doest like them being touched. His new adopter will need to earn his trust and practice this so they can keep his ears clean and free of pain and in time hopefully he can forget the pain and discomfort. Ian loves to be around female dogs and we would love to see him happily settled in a loving home with a girl dog to be his friend.

Ian came to me as a foster on Sunday (3/11) and wow, what a fabulous boy he is!
This sweet, little boy has bags of personality, and is desperate to be your best friend. He walks on a lead beautifully and is learning the ways of toileting outside very well with no accidents in the house.
Despite being 6, he’s a real youngster at heart, he loves to play with toys, and play fetch. I can tell he is going to be an active boy, so he needs someone who will play with him and take him for nice walks.
He is very attached to his human, and is very worried when I leave the room, so he will need time and patience to be left. He gets on well with my resident dog and he will need a companion for extra confidence in his new home.
