24-10-2024 Jenny has been returned from her adopters as sadly she was just too worried for them to be able to comfortably handle her and Jenny did panic when cornered and bit her owners hand. The adopters made the very difficult decision to return her to the rescue and she has now been in an experienced foster home for a while for careful assessment. She is looking for an experienced adopter who is able to handle a very scared. She is looking for an adult only home where there are no visiting children as she would find these too much to handle. Jenny needs a second chance at being loved and her fosterer's update is below.
Jenny has been in foster with us now for a couple of weeks and for the first week or so she wouldn't let us touch her and now it's clear to see she's is a lady's dog as she now runs to greet my wife and is happy to have fuss and also jump on the sofa by her. so ideally she'd like a women only home or at least a home where her main caregiver is female. her house training is 100% and she gets on well with all the other dogs and cats here. she's doesn't walk on a lead yet but we'll be working on this whilst she's in foster. potential adopties will have to be aware of the grooming costs of adopting this type of breed. Jenny just needs some time and patience from someone who can give her the best life.
22-01-25 UPDATE
so jenny has been with us a while now and she's really starting to come into her own. Once she creates a bond with you she will give cuddles and kisses, and although she would be better suited to a home where the female is the main carer she has started to let me give her the odd little fuss inside the house. Outside the house she's a totally different dog, she will let me pick her up fuss her and she even gives me kisses. Jenny loves being around you and she loves the car also, she's such an adorable dog. Jenny does walk on a lead, her house training is 99% there with just the odd little accident. She loves her food and will take treats from your hand. Jenny gets on well with all her doggy brothers and sisters, but we wouldn't recommend being homed with cats as she does like to chase them.
Ideally we would like her to have a home where someone is there most the time, would also be best without children or visiting children, and with at least one other furry friend to help her continue to live her best life
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
