If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

26-01-25 Mavie originally came to us about 10 years ago and found a loving home but sadly due to no fault of her own, she needs to be rehomed. She is larger than a standard JRT but smaller than a Beagle and is still quite spritely for her age.
Mavie is small enough to pass as a lapdog, wanting to be picked up, cuddled and loved at every opportunity and is extremely obedient in the house using simple commands. In the garden, she enjoys "Piggy-in-the-Middle" ball game and stops when she worn out and and goes to take some time out!
Mavie is a very loving and friendly dog towards humans and very well behaved in the house. Her only issues are her dislike of car journeys and other dogs, after having been attacked by a dog in the past.  This has made her very nervous of other dogs so Mavie is looking for a home as an only dog with no visiting dogs.  Her adopters need to have plenty of time for her as as she can be reactive to other dogs on walks they will need to take care to manage this. She is walked on lead and isn't allowed off lead for this reason. Don't let that put you off - Mavie is a wonderful, affectionate dog and companion who deserves a loving owner to care for her.
She had a cancerous growth removed from her neck in 2019 and the surgery was a success and has shown no signs of reoccurence. She also had a benign lump on her eyelid removed in July 2024.
