30-11-2024 Vanity has come to us from a breeder and is a very scared girl who is worried about this new world she has found herself in as she has never seen anything of the outrside world before. Vanity arrived here with conjunctivitis in both eyes and we are treating this with antibiotic eye drops so she will be feeling a lot more comfortable soon. Vanity will need to be shown a lot of love and kindness from her adopters and will need a calm and gentle adult only home where there is at least one other dog who is very kind and who will allow Vanity to cuddle up to them for comfort and support if she wants to. Her new friend(s) will help raise her confidence with people and she will watch them and start to copy what they do. This will also help her learn new skills like house training and lead walking which are things that may take her time to learn as the garden may be as scary as the inside of a home at first. With love, gentle words of encouragement and praise Vanity will gradually start to realise there is nothing to fear and her adopters will see her start to blossom. Vanity has a PETS travel document.
19-12-24 UPDATE
My SUPER beautiful girl Vanity is making a lot of progress here at the rescue and I am so proud of her. She was quite timid and withdrawn when she first arrived, but she’s coming out of her shell more and more every day and is also starting to feel a lot more comfortable around me. She greets me with a waggy tail every morning and I can tell she’s absolutely dying to come over to me for a fuss, but she’s not brave enough just quite yet. I do think once she’s settled in her new home, it won’t take her long to blossom at all.
She’s had quite a busy week this week as she’s had probably her first ever bath, a mini groom, and a little photoshoot too! Even though she was nervous, she coped really well and was such a good girl through everything. She’s also started to take notice of toys over the past couple of days and it’s so cute to watch her. She doesn’t really know what to do, but she’s trying! She’s just such a sweet and innocent girl who really needs to be given a chance, so I hope more than anything that she won’t have to wait for too much longer.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
