Status: AvailableID: 42390 Name: Clipper ^^ Breed: Cross Breed Age: 3 Years Gender: Male Adoption Fee: See below | |
Location: At Many Tears in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire |
01-11-24 Clipper is a shy boy who has come to us from a home through no fault of his own as his owner was hoarding animals and had many, many dogs in a very small home and Clipper has unfortunately suffered neglect due to the circumstances. He has some hairloss and scabs on his skin, but this is being assessed by the vet. Clipper is a little timid of humans right now, but will allow a gentle fuss with time. Clipper has shown that he may be an only dog in the home, in the right circumstance. As Clipper has not shown his confidence yet, he will need a kind resident dog in the home to rely on for comfort and support as she is used to being relying his brothers and sisters for assurance. Clipper has lived in a home but has not had the chance to learn new skills such as walking on a lead, or house training, so his new home will need to be gentle as he learns. Clipper would suit best in a quiet and calm home, so children in the home may not be the best situation for this timid boy. Clipper really is just a soft fluff ball, that is needing someone give him some basic TLC, and affection while he embarks on his new journey.
21-11-2024 UPDATE
So I started working with Clipper 2 days ago, and from what I’ve read in his previous write up, he has definitely changed. Clipper is still quiet but he isn’t shy, he will come out of the back of the kennel and greet me instantly. He is currently kennelled with one of his distant siblings and he is the more reserved of the 2. But he is by far shy. As you’ve previously read he came from a home but hasn’t really had a chance to have much socialising and is needing to be shown how to do these things. Living in a home alone without a dog wouldn’t be an option for me. He has only ever lived around dogs and minimal humans. Being in a new home may overwhelm him and make him too scared to learn, and just be a dog…I feel having a confident but kind resident dog in his new home would be most beneficial. He does like humans and if the humans were extremely patient he may flourish as an only dog, but just to help him feel at ease I think it’s nearly essential to have another friend. Because of his lack of socialising and his quiet domineer I’d think that a quiet, but active home would be best suited, someone who can explore and take him on new adventures would be great to see. A younger child home could be considered if they’re experienced and not first time dog owners. He is very sweet and gentle and really loves to have a cuddle and strokes. Clippers skin condition is improving now he’s living in a better environment. He will be due to see the vet again to check up on this. Thanks for reading. Ps our snaps from today..was extremely cold here today so we took some selfies and got back inside in the warm.
