Sebastian ^
|
25-10-24 Sebastian is a nervous boy who has come to us from a breeder. He has come with a sore ear that our vet will treat. This little chap looks like a teddy bear but he is really just a shy, curly little dog. He desperately wants to someone to show him that the world is not so bad and will shake like a leaf when he is touched. He needs kindness and reassurance to help him relax. He will need at least one resident dog to seek comfort in and rely on for support while he settles into his new home. As he has never lived in a home before, he will need patience and guidance from his adopters to help him with house training and to learrn how to walk on a lead. At the moment Sebastian is very worried and timid, but is much braver with his kennel friends and approaches with a wagging tail when he is with them. It is obvious that he is desperate to give and receive love, but is lacking the confidence he needs to show his true personality at the moment. With adopters who have plenty of time, love and patience, in a calm home, this boy is going to shine.

I’ve only been working with this handsome man for just over a week, but wow has his confidence rocketed!!! The first couple of days he was timid and nervous, and didn’t really want to be too close to me. Fast forward to now, he runs up to me to greet me with a waggy tail and loves to give me kisses all over my face. He’s now even brave enough to accept little fusses under his chin, and I can tell he’s already starting to enjoy them. Seeing how far he’s come in about a week and a half, I am SO hopeful for his future in his forever home. He’s going to become a right cheeky chappy, I just know it!! Sebastian will still need a resident dog in his new home as he is definitely more confident when he’s around his friends. He’ll also pick up on things such as house training and lead walking a lot quicker if he has a buddy to copy. He may still be a little overwhelmed when he first gets home, but I really don’t think it will take him too long to settle. As long as his adopters are understanding and patient with him, I think he’ll be just fine. I hope he doesn’t have to wait too much longer to find them .. he really does deserve the world.

I haven't really worked with Sebastian much since he's been here but I've been told that he is a lovely boy who's confidence has grown a lot in the last few weeks. He was a bit nervous of me to begin with when I took him out of his kennel but a few treats later and he was happy for me to fuss him, and was even walking over to me for more treats. Sebastian is currently harness training, he's coming along well but isn't quite there yet so you may have to continue this with him if he isn't fully confident by the time he is adopted. He is more confident around his kennel friends and will definitely still need at least one other resident dog for him to learn from and copy, he will also be able to find comfort and safety in them if he feels he needs it. He is a very sweet boy, when he knows you he is very friendly and can be affectionate, he just needs the right people to take him under their wings and allow him the time for his personality to show through. He is such a beautiful boy he would make such an amazing companion and best friend if he can just be given the chance.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
