08-10-2024 Hoover is a very worried girl that has come to us from a breeder. Due to her past experiences with people, she is very nervous and does not trust human intentions at the moment. She does run away when she is being approached and will need an someone with experience in ex-breeding dogs to be patient and help her gain her confidence. She will need to be homed with a kind and gentle resident dog to help with assurance and to lean on for support while she learns her new home. Since Hoover has not had the chance to live in a home, her new owners will need to be understanding and patient as she learns new skills such as house training and how to walk on a lead. As Hoover is a very nervous girl, children and active teenagers would be too overwhelming. Hoover is having a hard time settling into the kennels, and is waiting for someone to take a chance on her to help show her what love and kindness is. She has needed to have several teeth removed by the vet.
24-10-24 UPDATE
Hoover is a small little lady with a mighty personality, but please don’t let that put you off her. After all, it’s a big world for a small girl and she hasn’t had any reason in life before now to trust humans. When going slow with her, Hoover settles more which is why we think a calm and understanding home would help her flourish moreso than a busy home filled with children and visitors. She is a little darling, and you can see the personality within her when she gets a chance to feel free and settled. Sniffing around the yards, playing with her friends, she has it in her, but just needs to be out of the rescue space to begin to learn this other side of life. With time, Hoover will transform into a great little companion, but will find it hard in the beginning. She just needs a chance now to begin her new life, and forget about everything that makes her so so worried.
19-11-24 UPDATE
She will take treats out of our hands and is easy to scoop up with a blanket, so I'm sure she'll progress quite quickly in her forever home.
She loves all other dogs and greets them with such a waggy tail and lots of kisses.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
