04-01-24 Poppet originally came to us from a breeder and was adopted but has sadly been returned after a short adoption as she wasn't settling in her new home. Poppet is a very people focused beagle. She loves a fuss and cuddle. She enjoys going for walks and is quite confident on a lead and harness. Poppet will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing and owners that are wary of a dog that is quite quick through a door or gateway and will ensure she is kept safe. Poppet enjoys her food like most beagles. She sleeps through the night downstairs with our resident dogs and would need another kind resident dog in her new home to be her friend. Poppet can be left for short periods of time with the resident dogs. She likes to have an open crate that she can use if she wants some time out. Poppet is clean in the house but may regress when she moves again. Poppet really deserves another chance at a home of her own.

12-01-25 UPDATE

Poppet is the sweetest little girl and just loves to cuddle up on the sofa with anyone. She went to her first beagle meet on Saturday and greeted people and older children politely. She wasn't really bothered by the 'youngsters' racing about and was quite happy mooching about, taking treats and meeting people. She loves her walks and is quite keen still. She is clean in the house, sleeps, through the night and loves the sofa. Poppet would like her life to basically consist of breakfast followed by a walk then a nap. This would be followed by a treat then a run around the garden then her tea and a run around the garden then sleep. Poppet doesn't ask for much, just a home of her own where she will be a very loyal pupper.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
