If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

22-09-2024 Ollie is the sweetes older boy who has come to us from a home with his friend DAISY as their owner very sadly died.  These two have been very loved and their little hearts are breaking to find themselves here especially without their mum. Ollie is as gentle as they come and is very confused as he is used to home comforts and kennels are loud and busy and he wants to be back in a home where he can sit on someones lap and be loved to the moon and back. They are able to be adopted seperately, but we would hope they can stay together. We are told Ollie walks on a lead, is house trained and good with cats, older children and other dogs so we would consider homing him and Daisy with any of these as long as the cats and chldren were dog savvy. Ollie has had 2 previous partial cruciate rupture repair surgerys on each hind leg in 2020 and 2021 and had been identified to have a low grade heart mumur which did not require medication in his past medical history. If you can offer Ollie a home, please put in an application form asap so their stay here is as short of possible. He would make the perfect little companion for his lucky adopters.

24-09-24 UPDATE
Ollie has been checked over by our vets and they have noted that there is no obvious heart murmur present. The vets have noted Ollie has mild cataracts in his eyes and he is knuckling his left foot so the vets are further monitoring this.

09-10-2024 UPDATE

Daisy and Ollie have come into foster care with us until their forever homes are found. It was believed they should be re-homed together, but after assessment we found that they aren’t that bonded and can be rehomed separately, as they do have different needs, but can also be rehomed as a pair. Ollie isn’t too bothered about other dogs, and would possibly be preferred to live as an only dog. As Ollie is older, he is looking for a quiet retirement home (with or without Daisy) where there aren’t any young children, or bouncy dogs. Ollie loves his people and is a cuddly boy. When Ollie came to us we realised his back legs didn’t exactly move correctly and he does knuckling on one of his back foot. This does mean he cannot do steps well or jump, he’d need assistance on stairs/ doorways but doesn’t let this hold him back. (If anyone is interested, I can go into his medical needs in further detail, we have his full vet history!) Ollie just loves his people, and follow you everywhere. He is completely house clean and walks lead. He isn’t destructive when left alone. He really is a dream.

09-10-2024 UPDATE

Ollie has been reassessed by our vets, and we feel that removing 1 hind leg, or both hind legs wouldn’t benefit him in anyway and could cause further issues such as arthritis etc. He is almost 12 years old and it’s a big surgery, and one we would not want to risk. We are unsure why Ollie’s legs move the way they do (especially the left). It could be from a fracture that was never repaired, it could be from his cruciate ligament surgery aftercare, and possibly his recovery plan wasn’t followed as it should and has resulted in his ligaments being over stretched. Ollie is happy enough but this does give him special needs. He cannot walk long distances and walking could cause him pain on his knuckling foot. Ollie would benefit from a ‘dog pushchair’ so he can still enjoy the outside world. Surely someone would like to offer him that? He’s the most loving boy.
