02-09-2024 Puzzel is a shut down and worried little soul who has come to us from a breeder.  You can see the sadness in her face when she looks at you but she is a little sweetheart who is just unsure about our intentions and will move away when you approach her. Puzzel will need a calm adult only, home where there is at least one other dog who is as kind and gentle as her.  With their help she will start to settle into home life and she will watch them and then start to copy what they do which will help her with things like house training and lead walking. The garden may be as scary as the inside of a home at first and lead walking will take her a little time to learn and should be started in the garden before venturing into the outside in quiet areas.  With adopters who understand what Puzzel needs is love and kindness, she will start to flourish learn that the rest of her life will be wonderful and start to become much braver. Puzzel has a PETS travel document.

19-09-24 UPDATE

Meeting Puzzle today was so nice to see how much she has improved from her original update. She came to me for fuss even though we have never met and when all her kennel friends were backing away from me.
Although, she has improved tremendously she will still need another dog in her forever home to learn off and to turn too. She now walks on a harness and is brave enough to live with a family with slightly older children who will give her space to develop.

She is such a sweet girl she would blossom in most families.

09-10-2024 UPDATE
Puzzle has been in Foster for a couple of weeks and hasn't shown any signs of the nervousness she showed in the kennels. Home life clearly suits her. She is keen to seek out affection and loves having her ears tickled and a gentle roughing up on her back and bum. She loves her humans and is so happy to see us. She loves sleeping on the bed. House training is going well. Puzzle doesn't like being left and she barks loudly for your attention. She does settle however once left with the pack for a short while but is extremely excited and jumping up with the others when we return. Puzzle tries to play with the other dogs but she's not really sure yet. She has, now that she's settled in and her personality is coming out, shown signs of dominance to one of my other Foster dogs but she's absolutely fine with the other 6 dogs. She clearly loves to be in the Company of other dogs. She eats her food with other dogs and shows no sign of food aggression. We do think Puzzle would be better placed in a home with a resident male dog of at least equal size to her, she's a larger cocker of solid build. Puzzle really is a sweetheart with a strong personality. Shes not yet seen anything of the world or had any of the experiences resident dogs would have enjoyed. She's going to be someone's loving and faithful companion. She deserves the best.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
