02-09-24 Dreamer is such a gentle soul who adores a little fuss and loves her duvet and heated lamp. Dreamer has come to us from a breeder to find her forever family. Dreamer is easy to handle and accepts a fuss, with some tlc in a loving home she will flourish. She has lived with other cockers her whole life and gets confidence and comfort form other dogs. Dreamer will need at least one kind, confident resident dog who she can copy around the home and get comfort from as she bonds with her new family. Dreamer has never lived in a home before so will need understanding adopters that can help her learn new skills such as housetraining and how to walk on a harness/lead when she is ready. Dreamer will absolutely love home life and being cosy this winter with her new forever family. Dreamer is such a sweetheart who will bring so much love into a home. Dreamer has a pets travel document.

18-09-24 UPDATE
Dreamer has seen vets and is receiving treatment for a bilateral ear infection, which is quite severe in her left ear. She may need ongoing treatment for this and it wouldn't be covered by insurance in the future, so this is something her adopters would need to keep in mind. She has also received some treatment for eczema on her labial folds.

28-09-24 UPDATE
Dreamer is coming out of her shell more and more every day and it’s an absolute pleasure to look after her. Every day she greets me with the waggiest tail and I can just tell she’s always so happy to see me. She is still a little hand shy and will flinch at sudden movements, but she is getting better and I do think this will stop altogether in time. She loves her food which is always a good way of winning them over, and she loves to give me kisses too.
She will still need a resident dog in her new home, but I do now think she could be homed with older children, as long as they are sensible and respectful of her space.
Dreamer is such a beautiful girl inside and out, and I really hope she doesn’t have to wait here much longer to find her happy ending. She deserves it so much!

18-10-24 UPDATE
Dreamer is continuing to blossom and I absolutely ADORE working with her. Now that we’ve been together for a couple of weeks, I can tell she’s let down her guard and is starting to really trust me. She now absolutely loves fusses and is even partial to a bum rub!! I’ve also started doing some harness training with her and she’s doing extremely well. She sticks right by my side and looks to me for comfort, which is actually really amazing for an ex-breeding dog. They usually do better when they have another dog with them as it’s that dog that gives them confidence, but Dreamer has been a bit of an exception. Having said this, I do still think she’ll do a lot better in her new home having a resident dog to learn from, so she does still need to be homed with one!
If Dreamer can make this much progress here at the rescue, I can only imagine how well she’ll do in a home environment. Please don’t keep her waiting for too much longer!!

24-10-24 UPDATE
Dreamers ears are infected again and so has started another course of medication. She will need to have her ears cleaned regularly to try and prevent any future infections and this may be re-occuring in her new home and would not be covered by insurance. She has also recently received a course of antibiotics as she had some blood in her urine, but she has since been tested and her urine is back to normal.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
