23-08-24 Nuzzle is a beautiful girl who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. She has a Grade 1 heart murmur which will need to be monitored in the future by her new vet but does not need any intervention or medication at this time. She is a sweet girl who is very tense and nervous around humans. When she is around her kennel friends she is much more relaxed. She will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help her adjust to home life as she has never lived indoors before. She will need to learn new skills such as house training and how to walk on a lead. Nuzzle has lots to learn and will need time and lots of patience from you to help her to adjust and settle into a new way of life and in time we think she will love being someones special girl. She will beed a calm ad quiet home to help with this. She has had 2 teeth extracted at the time of her spay.

08-09-24 UPDATE
Nuzzle is still a very scared girl who is finding our kennel environment very overwhelming. She hides in the back of her kennel for about 90% of the day and would really prefer to go unnoticed. One thing she does love is her food, so she is happy to emerge when it’s dinner time or if I’m giving treats out! She’s still too nervous to take anything directly from my hand, but she is definitely creeping closer and closer every day. If I throw a little something near her, she’ll take it gratefully. I do think this is going to be the way to win her over, and I do also think she will start to get brave enough to take things from my hand soon, with a lot of persistence and consistency from me of course!
Nuzzle still relies heavily on her kennel friends and she would be an absolute shell without them. She follows them, copies them, and snuggles up in bed with them, so it’s definitely still essential she’s homed with at least 1 kind and confident resident dog. Her new home will also need to be a calm and quiet one, with adopters who like to have a routine and don’t get many visitors.
Nuzzle does sometimes panic if anything out of the ordinary happens and will try to sprint back to her safe place (the back of her kennel). An example of this would be if I opened her gate for her to run out to the yard, but the gate into the actual yard was closed, she would immediately get herself into a frenzy and try to run back straight away. This is something that will probably lessen over time, but also something her adopters will need to prepare for, especially when she first gets home.
Learning to walk on a lead will probably be something that takes a long time, and her adopters will need to take a lot of security measures to ensure she’s safe. Starting in the garden when she’s ready will definitely be the way to go for her. She is a really sweet girl, she’s just super worried about everything and will need to be introduced to the big wide world very slowly and carefully. I really hope someone is able to give her a chance soon, because she really needs it!

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
