05-08-24 Bunny is wonderful girl who is the kindest, sweetest dog and has come to us from Ukraine via War Paws Rescue. In Ukraine Bunny spent most of her life with the same dog and can very occasionally can get worried meeting a dog, but since her pal left she has met and played so well with multiple dogs. Any introductions would need to be done carefully to make sure Bunny is always comfortable. Bunny can be shy to meet people at first, but it doesn't take her long to be your best friend, she is more wary of men (not all) but as she realises good intentions and kindness she comes around well. Bunny loves to play, give kisses and is a happy girl once she knows you. In Ukraine she cut her paw at the shelter and was very willing to let us wash and dress it daily. Bunny will need gentle exposure to the big wide world so that she adjusts to it properly. Bunny will need a special home who will give her the time and not overwhelm her with everything at once. She walks on a lead, although adopters will need to build a bond with her, give her plenty of time to settle and be mindful that she is new to the UK so when out and about may never have seen/heard things we consider normal so will need to be introduced into the big wide world slowly and put in environments she can grow in confidence and flourish. We are unsure if she has ever lived in a home before so she will need help learning new skills and given plenty of understanding as she finds her feet.
Bunny enjoys the company of other dogs and will need a confident resident dog that is similar size or larger to be her best friend. She has much more confidence when around other dogs so this will really help her settle into her new life and flourish. She will need to be fed separately as she doesn't like to share food with other dogs which is understandable. The stress of kennels is getting to her, she will appreciate a calm home, but one where she will get enough exercise as she is an energetic little dog. Bunny will absolutely be your best friend and will love you more than the world. Bunny has a passport.

Bunny has been tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis, Borrelia, Babesia and Canine Brucellosis while in the Ukraine between 2022-2023 which were negative. Bunny has also been tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis, Borrelia and Canine Brucellosis since her arrival at the rescue using Bionote rapid tests and all were negative. We understand that vets have differing policies in regards to imported dogs and may request testing again in 3 months hence why these dogs are by a reduced adoption fee. Our rehoming team can provide futher information on the tests completed if required. We will be retesting the dogs again in 3 months if they have not been adopted by then and are happy for adopters to bring their dogs back to the rescue for testing and will only charge the cost of the tests.

13-08-24 UPDATE

Bunny is the sweetest girl with the gentlest soul. She’s not as confident as some of her kennel pals but will approach you for some fuss (and squeezy cheese). She has a natural curiosity and is super interested to know what you’re about. Her kennel carer is completely besotted with her and so are the people who have met her, she’s a really special lady.
She loves a cuddle/chill out with her kennel carer and even lets them cradle her like a baby! For now, Bunny will need a resident dog in her new home to help her with her confidence, this could potentially be reassessed in a few weeks when she’s more settled, but for now we believe it would be in her best interest to have at least one other dog to help guide her.

28-08-24 UPDATE

I’ve had the pleasure of working with bunny soon after her arrival with us here and I have fallen head over heels for this beautiful girl. When I first met bunny she was so unsure of men she wouldn’t even approach me and kept a safe distance from me at all times, to now when I come back from my weekend break and see her she comes running over with the waggiest tail to come and have a cuddle and some fuss! Bunny is coming on leaps and bounds with us here and I don’t see her stopping anytime soon! Bunny is looking for that special someone to give her that second chance she needs after the awful circumstances that led her to us. I am absolutely besotted with bunny and I know that her next forever family will be too.

10-09-24 UPDATE

Wooof! As you can see above my name is Bunny! I arrived here in the UK around 2 years ago, I spent the first half of my time here at a different rescue, and due to unforeseen circumstances I was transferred to this wonderful place called many tears. When I first arrived I was a little overwhelmed but I settled into my new routine very quickly. However I am still very shy and nervous of new people, and new environments. Today I met a man called Dan. Dan was extremely patient with me, and after a few minutes I felt confident enough to go and sniff his hand…Dan was quite aware of how shy I am, and went very slow putting my lead on. When the lead was on I was quite happy to go for a walk with him. Whilst on the walk Dan reassured me so much that I found confidence to walk out on the road with him. Whilst on my walk I really enjoyed sniffing around, however when cars came passed or other loud noises were made I did find myself shying away. In my new home I would need an experienced owner who knows how to handle scared dogs. A child free home is a must. Unless they are on the older side of life and have maybe lived with a dog before. I’m slowly developing enough that I could potentially be an only dog with the right owner, but at this moment in time I would definitely appreciate another dog in my new forever home. If you would like to meet me I am currently at the many tears animal rescue.

14-09-24 UPDATE

War Paws are a wonderful charity that helps dogs that would otherwise be destitute, starving, maltreated or worse. We really can't comprehend what our beautiful Bunny has been through. Bunny was rescued from the Ukraine. When I first met her she was unsure of me, especially being male, but she had a lovely kennel mate and as soon as she realises I was dishing out oodles of love and cuddles, she began to come around and make her way towards me. Don't get me wrong, any sudden movements or noises and she still gets spooked easily, but I always reassure her and she seems to trust me. Bunny has been with several dogs now and we have had no trouble at all. Her latest kennel mate got moved and she is currently by herself. As in the other updates, she is the sweetest girl and loves being out for a walk or bouncing around in the play yard. She definitely needs more motivation and exercise to give her a fulfilling life and happiness. Bunny will need another confident dog in the house to teach her and to buddy up with and learn from. Dog savvy, understanding teens will be ok, but not younger, it will be way too much for her. Bunny is a gentle soul and already very loving. Just bare in mind it's not instant when you meet her, but within half an hour she is letting you pet her and comes for a little lick or a sniff of her new friend. If your experienced with dogs that need that extra security, love and kindness then Bunny could be for you. She will absolutely blossom in the right home. Long walks and lots of fun and learning for her. As always read the previous updates, lots of info from other handlers and info on particular testing she has had done, coming from the Ukraine. I've sat writing this with her and even with all the barking around us, she has fallen asleep, I'm so glad she trusts me and I hope she finds her forever home, really, really soon.

06-12-24 UPDATE

Today I get the joy of writing about this beautiful girl and honestly what a pleasure she is !
We’ve decided with the terribly wet weather that the heat lamp and warm bedding was our choice of location to unwind.
Being super busy here at the rescue it’s hard to appreciate just how much the dogs really enjoy some quality time with us humans and what better way to do this than avoiding the showers and cuddling up!
The pictures say it all when it comes to Bunny, she really does love a good unwind and will easily fall asleep in your arms and make the most of it.
Bunny is a sweet girl and doesn’t mind sharing the fuss with her handsome kennel friend Orpheus either, what else can I really say about this delightful dog ,other than what are you even waiting for get that application in and help Bunny finally spend a Christmas surrounded by love and a roof over her head- because as wonderful as these kennels and staff are, it's about time she finds out what a real life is like.
