If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

27-07-2024 Noodles has come to us from a home but has mainly lived outside with 9 other dogs.  Her owners have been made homeless so Noodles and her friend Dusty have come to us to find a home where she can live in the house all the time.  Noodles is confident and is happy to approach us for a fuss ams we were told she was allowed in the home from time to time and did well but she will probably need a bit of help with house training.  This shouldn't take her too long to pick up as Noodles walks brilliantly  on a lead and is happy out on walks and running round our play yards.  Noodles could be homed with Dusty or with another dog or dogs but in the right circumstances and with experienced dog owners we may consider homing her as an only dog, however, she does need a cat free home. Her owners said Noodles has been around children of 10+ years so we would home her with dog savvy children of that age and older who are used to being around dogs of her size.  Noodles is a fantastic girl who will flourish in a home where she is loved and exercised regularly.
We are told that she can have some separation anxiety when left home alone and so will be looking for adopters who have experience with separation anxiety and will be willing to work on this with her, building up the amount of time that she is left/

Noodles has seen our vets to be neutered and had a dental at the same time with one tooth extracted. Noodles is recovering well.

08-08-24 UPDATE

Noodles is a gorgeous, confident, gentle soul, that can be wary when first meeting you but once you have spent time with her she loves being fussed and just wants to spend time with you, always liking to be your shadow. She loves her own space but is very nonchalant at passing other dogs and does not get nervous, but she doesn't like bouncy dogs who are going to not give her breathing room. She would love to find a home with her sister Dusty if possible but more than anything she deserves to break out of kennels as she has come to us from a home. Despite adapting well to kennel life you can really see her personality when you get away from the hustle and bustle and onto a long relaxed walk, Noodles absolutely shines when she can truly relax and I just know inside a home she will finally get the level of relaxation and love that she so deserves.

12-08-24 UPDATE
Today Dusty and Noodles got to escape the rescue for a few hours! They attended a charity dog walk, and were impeccable the entire time. We could not be more proud of them. The walk took place in the centre of a busy town, and these girls took everything in their stride. They walked by our side the entire time, as part of a large group of people and their dogs, big and small. They ignored traffic, and the other dogs (some of which were very busy & loud!). During the walk, we spent some time walking Dusty and Noodles away from each-other, to see how they would cope apart in a strange environment and they did really well. When out of sight, they did not look for each other or seem particularly stressed. However, if given the opportunity they definitely do gravitate to one and other and are exceptionally easy to walk side-by-side. After this walk, we think that both Dusty and Noodles could be only dogs, but they are such easy-going, low maintenance girls I really do feel like having the pair would not be much more work than one of them! They could go with other dogs, pending a meet and greet. Noodles in particular doesn’t appreciate excitable dogs getting into her face (who can blame her?!). The girls took a little bit of convincing to get in the car, but once in they travelled great on the journey to and from the walk! At the end of the walk, we stopped at a dog friendly cafe, where foodie girl Noodles happily lapped up a pup cup. Dusty wasn’t interested in hers, so Noodles kindly polished it off for her! We spent a bit of time outside the cafe, just watching the world go by and the girls settled beautifully. I really feel in a home, both Dusty and Noodles will be SO easy. They are the kind of dogs you could proudly take anywhere, and once home I can see them happily becoming part of the furniture, snoozing their days away. Please don’t let them wait too long for their happily ever after!

21-08-24 UPDATE WRITTEN BY VOLUNTEERS
We had the pleasure of walking Noodles and Dusty today and what a dream they were. These elegant ladies stayed at our sides and were not phased by traffic, people or passing dogs, they were just happy to be strolling along. They both regularly checked in with us as their walkers and especially the 12 year old in the group, who they wanted to walk alongside. They really would be the easiest addition to anyone who is looking for companion dogs to share walks with and a good old fuss and who are no trouble at all. The easiest dog walk ever with two beautiful souls

28-09-24 UPDATE
Dusty and Noodles have sadly been returned after a few weeks in their new home due to having separation anxiety. Their adopters said they are lovely dogs and except for separation anxiety, they were doing so well, had settled in well to home life and had even mastered house training. They bonded well with their new owners and enjoyed going for walks. They were a little nervous about the car and Noodles can sometimes get car sick. They can chase sheep and cats so would need to be kept on a long line unless in a secure area. They will be looking for a home with adopters who have experience with separation anxiety and who will be willing to work with them on this and build up the time that they are left home alone. We are told that they aren't destructive in their seperation anxiety, just vocal.

13-11-24 UPDATE

Dusty and Noodles have been with us here in foster for the last 2 weeks and they are such incredible girls!  At home they are so chilled out and love to snooze the day away on the sofa with the odd snack slid their way. Out and about they are super easy to walk, so much so that I walk both of them in one hand. They meet dogs nicely (and perhaps a little indifferently sometimes) and are loving exploring the variety of countryside, commonland and woodland that we have around us.
They both have their own little personalities! Noodles is so chilled out. She has her own spot on the sofa and if any other dogs takes it she will stand and huff in their face in protest until they move. She loves a cuddle and a roll on our shaggy rug to scratch her back,
Dusty is a bit more unsure than Noodles and prefers to be in eyeline of a human at all times. She would follow us everywhere if she could and we are trying to reduce this to help her be more confident in her own company. We suspect that Dusty is the main one that shows the separation anxiety noted from her previous adopter. We don't really leave our dogs much but have started leaving for 5 minutes and she seems fine with this on the dog camera. She is so funny and cheeky and likes to play like a giant puppy sometimes....and she can smile!
Both girls know their names and recall really well when in a secure field. They can run at a blistering speed but it doesn't last long before they are tired and want to go back home to the sofa!
Please don't be put off by the fact that these lovely girls need to go as a pair, they really are so easy together. They are the perfect dogs for any Lurcher or Deerhound lover!
