Location: At Many Tears in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire |
25-07-24 Kaph is a beautiful girl with such an expressive face, she is scared of people and trying to find out if we are kind or not, she has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment and is feeling quite unsure around us. When we approach her in the kennel she does run away and does not want to be touched, trying to get as far away from us as possible. Kaph has been through a lot of change in coming to the rescue so it is important we give her some time to decompress and will update on her shortly as she learns our intentions are only positive. She remains quite tense when being handled (this is really new for her) and does voice her concerns at time so we are introducing this little and often to ensure we don't overwhelm her and allow her to build up lots of posiitve experiences. Kaph spends most of her day snuggled into the bed with her kennel friends and takes great comfort in their company - she would never have known life without other dogs. She comes to life in their company when she thinks we can't see her and becomes a happy confident girl, racing around the playyard with them and finding all the new smells. Kaph will need at least one confident resident dog in her new home that is happy to have her snuggle up next to them and that she can gain comfort and confidence from in her new home, but this dog would need to be her size or larger. She is looking for a kind calm adult only home with adopters that have experience in bringing on scared ex-breeding dogs that can help her come out of her shell in a loving environment. She has never lived in a home before so will need kind understanding adopters that can help her learn new skills such as housetraining and walking on a lead/harness when she is ready, this may take some time and she will need adopters that understand this. Kaph is such a dear girl who has been through a lot and just needs that experienced someone to welcome her home and show her how much love is waiting for her when she is ready.
20-08-24 UPDATE
Kaph is receiving treatment for an ear infection in her left ear.
23-08-24 UPDATE
I met Kaph for the first time and although she was a little shy and wouldn’t come to me at first, after a while she started to take treats from me. Once settled, she will trust her new owners as much as she trusts her kennel staff who work with her on a daily basis. Kaph will need a slightly quieter home and probably best without young children, she will also need another doggie in the home to help her settle and learn and this dog will need to be her size or larger. With a little bit of time and a whole lot of love, Kaph will make an incredible family member
05-10-24 UPDATE
Kaph has now finished treatment for her sore ears but these will need to be cleaned regularly and her new adopters will need to keep an eye on them to ensure they dont get sore again.
07-10-2024 UPDATE
Beautiful Kaph is getting braver by the day, she is one of the easiest girls to look after in kennels and will happily mix with lots of other dogs. She can be grumbly at meal times but we just make sure we watch her eat with the others and she's absolutely fine. She loves going down the big play yard and rolling around in the sand and carpet mix, it's her absolute favourite thing to do. Kaph would need at least one other dog in her new home and would find children too much, so any children in the home would need to be teenagers and would have to know how to respect her need for space and time. Kaph is a darling who everyone loves once they get to know her.

Kaph is a beautiful girl who has come to us from a breeder and although hasn’t had the best start in life, truly deserves the world and more.
I've worked with her a few times now and she certainly is a character! Although still not as confident as her kennel mates, Kaph does draw her confidence from them and finds the courage to approach and sniff you with a waggy tail.
She is trying so hard to be brave and with the help of a kind home, I’m sure she’ll get there.
Kaph has been with us since July and I’m honestly stunned to see her still here. She was so timid initially and considering she’s been living in a noisy rescue, she has started to have real fun in the moments when she gets to go to the yard and have a good sniff around.
I'm sure with a resident dog and some time love and affection, she will find her feet and flourish in a home.
Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
