If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

02-07-24 Fanta has come to us from a breeder, ready to find her forever home. She is the loveliest girl who has so much fun energy and will be looking for an active home with adopters who will keep her both mentally and physically stimulated. She is a little worried and overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment and will need love and kindness as she starts to come out of her shell and build up her confidence. She isn't yet brave enough to approach you, but will dance excitedly around the kennel, trying her best to be confident. Fanta will be looking for a home where there is another kind and confident resident dog who will be her friend and companion. She has never lived in a home before so will need adopters who are kind and patient as she settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She is a wonderful girl and in the right home she is going to truly thrive. She has a PETS travel document.

17-07-24 UPDATE
Even though Fanta has only been with us for a little while, she’s coming out of her shell beautifully and is really starting to find her feet as the days go by. She now feels comfortable enough to approach me for a little fuss under her ears, and she’ll walk forward to ask for more every time I stop! She’s also becoming a bit of a foodie which is more than fine with me because I think it’s helping her trust me more. She absolutely loves liver paste and is always first in line to get some!
Fanta will still need a resident dog in her new home as I think she will learn a LOT from them. She may be a little overwhelmed at first, and she may go backwards with her confidence a little, but in the right home, I don’t think it will take her too long to settle at all. She really just needs to be given time, and shown nothing but kindness, patience and understanding.
Fanta is a cracking girl and I can imagine she’ll turn into the most wonderful companion in the future .. she just needs to be given a chance!

04-09-24 UPDATE

Fanta is progressing quite well here at the rescue now! Once she knows and trusts you, you can see a clear difference in her confidence levels and she will now jump up on my legs ever so gently for a fuss! She is still quite timid when you are walking around her and will avoid you a little, but once you sit or crouch down to her she will come up to you with a little waggy tail and you can pick her up and put her on your lap. She is a little darling girl who I believe will thrive in the right home given time to settle.
She will need a resident dog in her adoptive home to help with her confidence and has been kennelled with a wide range of dogs here and she hasn’t been a problem with any of them, so she could be homed with a male or female dog(s). She does have collie in her which will possibly help with intelligence and play once she is confident enough and hopefully her full personality will emerge! I hope someone will give her a chance soon, so that she can finally experience home life for the first time in her life, and be as loved and spoiled as she deserves!

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
