If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

30-06-24 Jen has come to us from a breeder ready to find her forever home. She is a sweet girl who is ready to find her forever home. Jen could be homed as an only dog and we like she may prefer this, so she can get all of the fuss and attention for herself. We would also consider homing her with another dog as long as they were the right match and feel she may be best suited with a larger male dog. Jen can show some signs of resource guarding her food from other dogs, so if she was to be homed with another dog she would need to be fed separately and her adopters would need to be happy to manage this. Jen has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and patient as she learns all about living in a home and picks up new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. She will come up to you with a waggy tail and will gently say hello before backing away, so with love and kindness she should soon start to come out of her shell. She is a very sweet girl and in the right home she is going to truly thrive and turn into a cheeky girl! She has a PETs travel document.

25-07-24 UPDATE

Jen is emerging from her little shell and is turning into a real star. Everyone seems to know who this cute, cheeky and petite beagle is. We went for a walk today and she walked confidently and beautifully on the lead, and that was without another dog helping her! We feel like Jen would be best suited to being homed as an only dog but she could also live with larger male dogs. As you can see in the video, she's a busy little wiggler, and is always so happy.
Jen is happy to be stroked but doesn't cuddle in, or get too close, but I think she will grow to be a great snuggler. We met one of our cats today, lazing in the sunshine, Jen took no notice until the cat walked off then Jen was up for a chase, so she'll need a cat free home. Jen has a big personality and is a gorgeous character that you can't help smiling at and will bring nothing but happiness to her new family

Jen has seen our vets to be neutered and is receiving treatment for otitis in both ears. She is recovering well after surgery.

20-08-24 UPDATE

Today, we did something very special and let Jen choose her own day out! One thing we love to do here at Many Tears, is take our kennel dogs out on special trips to help them forget about kennel life for a day and also test them in a variety of situations/public spaces etc. Today…Was Jen’s turn, an incredibly busy, little Beagle pocket rocket who we already knew was super special, but her behaviour today just solidified the fact that we need to share this perfect girl everywhere and find her a human as soon as possible.
Jen unfortunately has to be kennelled on her own here, which would also be her preference in a home (read below), but things can still get very lonely for her and every day that this girl isn’t in a home snuggled next to a human, feels like such a waste. So, we hopped in the car and got going, where she was a little anxious to begin with, but she quickly settled and travelled perfectly without a peep (it helps to have a toy with her to keep her company!)
The first stop of her big day out, as she is so toy obsessed, was toy shopping in Pets at Home, where she had lots of fusses from staff and public and picked out her brand-new unicorn toy (which she is now totally obsessed with and had to show everyone in the car park!) We then walked along the busy streets of Carmarthen, where she behaved impeccably, trying to say hello to every single person she saw, most of which were equally as desperate to say hi to her and I can see why! She also met many dogs along the way and greeted them all with the waggiest of tails, as well as birds to which she showed absolutely no chase instincts or prey drive, a proper madam.
The next stop was so wonderful for her, the local doggy cafe, Baileys! She was so excited to go in and immediately got cuddles from other visitors, one of which very kindly brought her a big treat stick! She ordered her first ever Puppucino after giving the waitress her best puppy eyes, which she elegantly licked at, before falling asleep with her new unicorn on the cafe's sofa, she was so tired she literally could have stayed there all day! She mingled with other dogs amazingly while in the cafe, ranging from small to large, but definitely didn’t want to share her treaties, so care needs to be taken around food and other dogs. She also met children in the cafe and was perfectly mannered, also not at all spooked by them, so we would consider homes with dog savvy children.
Lastly, we had a walk around the museum gardens, where she sniffed the flowers, had a long roll in the grass and met countless dogs and humans, again behaving perfectly on every single interaction. She didn’t pull much on her lead and walked really well, she would happily trek with you for a long time and seemed rather sad when I told her it was now home time.
Although she is so perfectly sociable out and about, she would ideally be an only dog in her home as she has been very dominant on occasion in kennels, strictly when sharing a living space with other dogs. Jen’s owners would need to be aware that she would need to stay as an only dog if rehomed as one and adding a dog in the future likely wouldn’t be an option. She met SO many humans out and about and relished the opportunity to have cuddles with everyone, so she is desperate to have one to herself. She is a VERY busy girl who needs an active home and a steady supply of toys, she’d enjoy going on long days out and then she’d love snoozing on your sofa afterwards.
If you can offer Jen everything she needs and more, please consider applying for her, she is such a special companion waiting for a special home!

21-11-2024 UPDATE
Jen has been back in kennels for a few weeks now after being adopted for a couple of weeks. She sadly got returned as she didn’t get along with the adopters adult visiting son. Since she has been back at the rescue I have worked with her near enough every day and she has been a delight to look after and has shown no negative behaviour. Shes always super excited to see you by her kennel and the only struggle with her is trying to get a lead on her because she so wriggly and excited. She has toys in her kennel and a kong wobbler, she has shown no signs of guarding any of these. She walks lovely on the lead and absolutely loves going for a walk. She has play dates down our big yard with another beagle and she goes absolutely crazy down there, for a little dog she sure has a lot of energy. Jen is looking for an adult only home where she will be the centre of attention, she would prefer less visitors as this is something that she obviously struggled with in her last home. She would need to be an only dog in her new home.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
