29-06-24 Thankful has come to us from a breeder ready to find her forever home. She is a quiet girl, who at the moment spends most of her day sleeping and watching the world go by as she's a little overwhelmed to find herself here. She doesn't yet approach us and so will e looking for a calm and quiet home where there is another kind and confident resident dog to be her friend and take her under their wing. She will need love and kindness as she settles in to her new life and starts to come out of her shell. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she learns all about home life and new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. She is a sweet girl and in the right home is going to truly thrive. She has a PETs travel document.

08-07-24 UPDATE
Thursday has seen our vets to have a nasal wedge resection and BOAS surgery to help with her breathing, and she is recovering well. She has had 5 teeth extracted by  the vets.

21-07-24 UPDATE

Thankful is one of the sweetest ladies I've had the pleasure of working with. She walks beautifully on the lead and enjoys exploring her surroundings but she is also a big cuddle monster and just loves being with people. She came to the rescue with her friend Thursday who has found a foster home now, so she really could do with finding her new family soon. She would love a little friend to share the rest of her life with and snuggle up to at night. She will make the best companion and for someone looking for a lap dog she is the perfect snuggle buddy.

07-08-24 UPDATE

Thankful is a wonderful girl who came running to me when I met first met her! She’s so fun and instantly wanted lots of fussed. After our initial meeting, I took her for a walk and although a little shy, she did well but as she’s just learnt, still walks better with kennel friends. She could be an only dog in the right home as she’s fun, energetic and confident. She is good with people and children but can be a little shy if there’s a lot happening around her. Thankful would be a great addition any family that loves funny little frenchies.

21-08-24 UPDATE

This sweet girl is a delight to work with every day. She gets super excited with her friends when we arrive in the morning and is always first out the door to see us, she then insists that we carry her to the yard for extra fuss! On arriving, Thankful wasn’t to keen on other dogs but with some patience and slow socialising she has managed to make a whole variety of friends including cockers, a very large Shepard cross and a very bouncy lab! Thankful likes to be in the midst of things, always wandering about to see what the others may be doing or checking on us to see if any treats are being dished out. She is very partial to snuggles, kisses and love and loves a chin scratch, I believe she would be a great lap dog. She gets excited for her walks and likes to pop her head into her harness ready to strut away, she isn’t the fastest of walkers but manages to keep up with the big group when we set off to the yard. We tend to visit the sand school yard everyday but today we tried the new agility yard which she seemed very interested in. We managed to work out the tunnel and even gave the see-saw a go! In the right home Thankful could be an Only dog but would need her humans to be around most of the time. She could also be homed with another resident dog and this would be decided on a meet & greet here at the rescue

03-09-24 UPDATE
Thankful has seen our vets as she has a sore paw due to licking it, she is receiving treatment.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
