26-07-24 Frank is a stunning, happy young boy who has come to us as an unclaimed dog and is looking for a loving home. He is a delight to look after here and he has an absolutely lovely temperament. Frank is a confident well mannered boy who walks well on the lead and enjoys going out and about. Frank has become a little reactive whilst being here in kennels, and because of this he was kenelled alone for his first few nights. Once he settled in, we introduced a female Frenchie who he gets along with really well. Frank loves his food and we use this as a tool to help with his reactivity, which his adopters would need to continue his training with. We walk Frank past other kennels to reach the play yard and he can react to the other dogs in kennels, but if he knows we have a treat then he is much more focused on this and will ignore the other kennels.
We feel Frank would be best suited to being homed as an only dog, although with the right match we would consider homing him with a friendly female dog who was his size or larger, but this would depend on the meet and greet. Frank can show signs of separation anxiety, and can get quite distressed when you leave his kennel, so he will be looking for adopters who have experience of this and will work on this with him by building up the amount of time he is left alone. He would love his adopters to be around most of the time. Frank is a lovely boy who due to his confidence around people we think may have lived in a home before but he may still need to learn about home life and skills like housetraining. Frank is currently looking for an adult only home as children are overwhelming for him at the moment.
He has arrived underweight and is on regular meals throughout the day to help him gain weight which adopters will need to continue and monitor. He also has an underbite which doesn't cause him any difficulties but will need to be monitored. At the time of his neuter he had a nasal wedge resection to help with his breathing. Frank is such a fabulous character and will make a family complete!

So today I got to reunite with the most perfect frenchie in the world! His name is Frank. Frank has been with us at the rescue for around 2 months. Frank came to us from a home through no fault of his own. When he arrived he was completely overwhelmed and wasn’t sure how to settle into kennel life. Frank was kept separate to start off as he was a little reactive, but after a couple of days we found a female frenchie who complimented him really well and they have become good friends, they are now kennelled together and have had no issues. Frank has progressed in more ways than one, Frank doesn’t react to other dogs whilst walking..he is in routine here where he runs out to his play yard from his kennel without stopping and shouting at other dogs. He has learnt that by going straight to his yard results in a nice tasty treat, and some cuddles. Frank is already castrated and is so ready to find his forever home. Frank loves to explore and sniff his surroundings. Frank could live with another female dog pending a meet and greet, or as an only dog. Frank loves people like most frenchies and is very happy alone, providing that his person spends lots of time making him feel like the king he is. Frank could be homed with older dog savvy children. Frank could suit most home set ups and would be a great addition to your life. He is a very happy boy and just needs the love from a family. It would be very easy for me to take Frank out and take nice pictures of him..as he is just perfect and any photo I take will make him look handsome…so I did something a little different today. Today I took Frank to the groom room and I gave him a nice soapy bath…I don’t think I’ve ever washed such an easy dog. Frank was very happy to be lifted into the bath and took everything in his stride, not one freak out. He loved the massaging of the soap and love the rinse even more…then it was time for the scary bit with the loud machine we call a hair dryer. He absolutely smashed it and was as calm as anything. Here are some pictures of our time spent in the groomers and if you are interested in adopting him please submit an adoption application form!
15-09-24 UPDATE
Today I decided to take Frank out for the day. I went to his kennel to get him and as always, he was so happy to see me. I put his lead, harnesses and slip lead on and off to the car we went. Frank was a bit unsure about the car but sat and laid down during the journey as we went to our first stop, Pets At Home. In there, he was such a good boy and just sniffed around, he even stopped to see the fish! I took Frank to the toy section where I let him look for a new toy as Frank loves his toys. He properly rummaged through the toys until he found the perfect one which was a McDonald's fries toy. As you can tell, Frank loves his food so much that he even picked a toy which represents that love. After we paid for the fries he carried his new toy to the car and jumped straight in.
Our second stop was the beach. I put him on a long line and we played fetch with his new toy. He did look at other dogs but when I called his name his attention was back on me. Frank enjoyed his day out of the centre, he even had a good snooze on the way back.
Frank loves the company of humans and is sad at the rescue when we leave at the end of the day. Frank deserves to be curled up on the sofa next to his adopters. If you could give Frank a home where is he loved and your home most of the time then please apply.
10-10-2024 UPDATE
Frank has been at the rescue for a little while now. He is very friendly and enjoys a fuss, and loves being taken out for a little walk, though in true Frenchie nature, he’ll let you know when he’s ready to return home. He walks on a lead well with little to no pulling, and loves all the smells and fun-things to see when out and about. Although Frank is very friendly, he does have some issues around food, so he is fed separate to his kennel friend. This is easy for us to manage, though something to keep in mind for anyone with resident dogs. For anyone wishing to adopt Frank, he would make a very good only dog, (he could be adopted with a similar sized female dog), as he’s just so confident, bubbly and lively. Frank is a very cuddly, loving Frenchie who just wants a home to call his own. He loves making his bed his own, and I can’t wait for the day he has his own to keep. He’s been here too long now and needs that someone to come and get him out of kennel life and into home life. Frank would do best in a home without children
