SALT IS LOOKING FOR A HOME WITH PEPPER

20-06-24 Salt and Pepper have arrived here together, along with their pups from a breeder to find a loving home. The pair are bonded and love each other very much so they will need to be rehomed together. Salt is the more confident of the pair and he will approach you for a gentle fuss whereas Pepper will hold back until Salt is sure that everything is ok. Salt's tail is always wagging and he is doing his very best to be brave but still feels a little shy. They havent lived inside before so will need to learn home skills like house training and lead walking which they would find easier if there is a resident dog in their new home but we could rehomed them where there isnt a resident dog in the right home and where you have plenty of patience to help and encourage them to learn these things. They can be homed with children who are teenagers and above. This pair are just lovely together and we cannot wait to see them settled with their own family and making memories together forever. He has had 4 teeth extracted at the time of his neuter.

Salt and Pepper have settled at the rescue beautifully and I’m really starting to see them come out of their shells now! Salt is definitely still more confident, but Pepper has been watching him closely and is getting braver every day. She is now happy to approach me to have a little fuss under her ears, and she’ll walk forward for more when I stop, just like Salt does!
I’ve started doing some harness training with the both of them and even though we’re still in the early days, they are doing well and I don’t think it’s going to take them too long to master it! They’re both very foodie, so that definitely helps a lot. I use liver paste or squeezy cheese to try and encourage them to take some steps, and it works every time. I’m going to keep practising with them so I’ll keep you all updated on their progress.

Salt and Pepper have been with us in foster for nearly four weeks . Their progress has been amazing and they are far more confident now . They are lovely dogs. Very friendly with us and our other dogs and easy to handle . Salt , the little boy loves a cuddle with his foster Dad on the big chair and the Pepper , little girl loves her foster Mum . Both are virtually clean indoors and have very good recall . Salt is very good on the lead and Pepper is also settling to lead walking. They have met the great grandchildren, aged 3,5 and 9 with no problems , although the children are all very dog savvy. They could go together without another resident dog but would need a cat- free home

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
