20-06-24 Whisk is a worried girl who has come from her breeder to find a loving home. She is feeling overwhelmed at the moment and does not yet know what to expect from the new world she has found herself so is expecting the very worst when she doesnt realise that actually her life is now going to be so good. She is not brave enough to come forwards and will hide away at the moment. She has sweetest soul and needs some gentle encouragement and TLC in an adult home as she would find children too much at the moment. She has no idea of walking on a lead yet and enjoying walks, or having treats, or choosing what toys to play with, or choosing to snooze... she simply isnt used to having any choices at all so she must feel very confused as she gets used to it. In time  she is going to love being cherished and the world is her oyster. With a kind resident dog to follow she will soon get the hang of house training and other such home skills. She is such a little gem, we love her.

22-07-24 UPDATE

Whisk is still a really shy lady but has made good progress since she first arrived. She will now approach you to sniff your fingers and always has a waggy tail around people who give her space. She comes to life when she’s out in the yard with her friends and is a little more confident during these times. We still start to harness train her once her confidence grows a little more. Today was my first time meeting Whisk and I was very surprised when she approached me for a sniff after hearing how terrified she was coming in.

08-08-24 UPDATE
Whisk has been at the rescue since June and has had a hard time adjusting to rescue life. She’s a shy girl that’s been needing a quiet home for too long now, and although she’s being so brave and trying her hardest to gain confidence, what she really needs is a quiet home with understanding adopters that will let her explore and learn to trust. Despite her shy nature, Whisk is coming along with walking and does enjoy having a little sniff when out. She doesn't like it when there is any pull on the lead so a harness is probably better for her. She gets along well with her kennel friends and is more confident when around them, so she will need a resident dog to help her settle into home life and gain some much needed confidence. She is a very sweet lady who will accept fuss from you. Whisk is one of those ladies that won’t be your instant sidekick, but those little breakthroughs will bond you beyond what any more-confident dogs could.

28-08-24 UPDATE

Whisk is a beautiful cocker. I have spoken to one of her kennel mums and have been told that although she is nervous still, she has come along so well since arriving here at the rescue. She is growing in confidence all the time and will allow you to give her a fuss and put her harness and lead on her with no problems. Whisk has improved so much on the lead and really enjoys going on walks and to the big play yard with her friends, she enjoys having a sniff and doing her own thing. She is much more confident and comfortable with other dogs around which is why we are saying that she needs to be rehomed with other dogs. Whisk will be able to copy and learn basic house training skills from your resident dog as well as seek comfort from them if she needs to. Please consider giving Whisk her forever home and the family she's always needed, she is a sweet little girl, she will just need some patience with her training and in allowing her to adjust to her new home and way of life, but in return and in time she will show you so much love, all she wants is for you to give her that chance.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
