If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

25-05-24 Cozy has come to us from a pound in Ireland to find his forever home. He is a super friendly boy who is so ready to find his forever family! He is very energetic and will be looking for an active home with adopters who will keep him both mentally and physically stimulated and where he can go on lots of wonderful walks and adventures with his new family. He is a happy boy who is confident enough to be homed as an only dog as long as his adopters were around most of the time and had plenty of time to spend with him. Cozy is looking for an adult only home who are experienced in resource guarding without any visiting children to ensure he is set up for success. He has never lived in a home before so he will need kindness and patience as he learns all about home life and new skills like house training. At the moment he is a little underweight, but with a good diet he should soon build himself back up to a healthy weight. Cozy is just wonderful so please don't leave him waiting too long. Cozy has a PETS travel document.

06-06-24 UPDATE

Cozy is just the most lovable boy ever, I’ve got a huge soft spot for this young lad. He so wants to be loved and is eager for fusses, he loves it when I stay with him for a good scratch and he will lean right into you for a fuss.  Cozy is a big energetic boy and would love a home with humans that will enjoy spending time playing with and training  him. He’s a smart boy and responds quickly to learning new skills. He is in kennels on his own as he can be a bit over excitable when with other dogs, but he shows no aggression just a lack of doggie manners. At this stage we think a home where he can be the only dog would be best. He will want humans that can be around most of the time as he does get fretful when on his own for long periods. So if you’re a human or humans with space in your world for a big beautiful, energetic boy please do consider our lovely Cozy. Please note because of his size, puppy like nature and resource guarding he is looking for an adult only home.

22-06-24 UPDATE
Cozy is currently being treated for severely swollen ear canals.

11-07-24 UPDATE
Cozy is a lovely obedient boy with great recall. We rescued him from the pound in Ireland where he was close to being PTS as his time was running out. Cozy was briefly adopted from the rescue where his owners had a few days of bliss with him but then he started resource guarding items such as socks or treats aswell as the sofa which was something they were not equipped to stop. Cozy will need a home with people who have dealt with resource guading before and are able to give him lots of mental enrichment as well as physical exercise. Cozy needs a special home with an active lifestyle due to his amazing intelligence.
We feel as he is so agile he may love to learn to track, cani-cross, agility or just be your best friend on plenty of adventures. Cozy hasn't shown any resource guardng in kennels and only displayed this behaviour in a home which is why we have now added this in throughout his profile. The resource guarding was over stealing socks or a high value treat not food and the sofa, where he would growl and show his teeth.  His adopters were heartbroken to give him back as other than this he has a fantastic temperament but as they had visiting children it wasn't a suitable environment for Cozy.
If you have an adult only knowledgable home in regards to resource guarding and want an adventure buddy for life please apply for Cozy.

25-07-24 UPDATE

Cozy is a big, beautiful, super smart and lovable dog. This lovely boy has not had the easiest start in life and would benefit so much from a calm, confident and experienced home.
Cozy has a lot of energy and needs plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep him happy and out of trouble. Cozy loves to play ball, go out for walks and learn new skills, he is generally good on lead but sometimes gets a bit distracted, however he responds so well to training that it does not take long to get him back on track.
Here at the rescue we have been working on his patience as he sometimes gets so overexcited to see us, and he then forgets his manners and become a little over zealous in his greetings. All the staff find him to be so much better than when he first arrived and was a very overwhelmed young dog. We would recommend an experienced adult only home with a humans that have experience of big, active intelligent breed dogs.
In this little video the puzzle he is enjoying he has never done before but knows exactly how it works, and as you can see is very food driven which helps enormously when training him.

15-08-24 UPDATE

Cozy is doing so well with us, his manners are improving every day, and everyone says he is becoming a calmer more patient boy which is so important in a dog of Cozy’s size. Today before the rain started we had a super play in our new play yard here at the rescue, and I managed to get a few photos of this handsome boy. Cozy played catch and fetch, as well as stopping for rest and cuddle breaks (he is big on cuddling). However despite all the attention he gets here it’s still not really enough for an energetic and smart boy like Cozy and we really are keen to find the right home for him. Cozy is looking for a loving, experienced home, ideally a home that has previously owned GSD’s or similar intelligent big dogs or is very willing to learn about them and work on continuing his training

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
