01-02-24 Tesler is a sweet girl who has come from her breeder to find a loving home.  She is a large girl for her breed type but this just means there is more of her to love! She is shy when she first meets you and is unsure of what we want or what she should do. Tesler is easy to handled and we have discovered she loves a gentle fuss and calms right down. She loves her kennel friends and will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help her settle into home life which she has never experienced before. Tesler will need to learn all about house training, how to walk on a lead and other such home skills. With some patience, encouragement and lots of love she will start to shine. Tesler's left eye has entropian which will be repaired when she is spayed and a Grade 1-2 heart murmur which does not currently require medication but will need to be monitored by adopters vets.

08-02-24 UPDATE
Tesler has seen our vets to be neutered and had an umbilical hernia repair at the same time. Tesler has also received a left eye lower eyelid entropian repaire with the vets noting she has bilateral diamond eyes which is a combined form of entropion and ectropion – a condition in which the eyelid rolls outward. We will monitor this and if necessary do a further operation. Tesler has had a dental with two teeth removed and is recovering well. The vets have noted that Tesler has a bony enlargement on her left stifle but that her patella seems ok and her ability to flex and extend the limb is normal. Tesler is going to be reassessed in one week to ensure she needs no further surgery on her eyelids.

26-02-24 UPDATE

Tesler is a shy young lady who is looking for a home with a resident dog. Being with the right dog will help to boost her confidence, so that she can transition from her old life in a breeding environment, into the loving home she deserves. She does have a grade 1-2 heart murmur and issues with her eye which will need to be monitored, but on a positive note her eye has got significantly better. She is very affectionate and easy to handle even if you're a stranger, and relies on you to comfort her when she's unsure of things. I'm sure that with time, love, and perseverance she will learn the ropes of the new world that she's been introduced to, and will make someone a very happy owner.

16-03-24 UPDATE

Tesler is doing well and becoming more confident towards other dogs. She is happy to run around the yard playing chase or just pottering around and taking in the scenery. Harness training needs a little more practice but it won’t be long until she can stroll outside the rescues walls and join her friends on a brisk walk. Tesler eats well with the others and is quite partial to some squeezy cheese or liver paste. She has been kennelled with both males and females of various breeds so would be the perfect addition to any family with a resident dog. She has also had a brow lift to help her see more easily now.

11-04-24 UPDATE

Tesler has come out of her shell so much recently and absolutely adores her kennel friends, especially Butterbean the beagle and she likes to be his shadow. He has been the best role model for her and has been the one to help her learn to walk on her harness and enjoy having zoomies in the new play yard. Tesler enjoys a fuss from people she knows and trusts and is easy to handle, she even comes over to have her harness put on because she loves going out so much. I don't know why she's still waiting, she's a very special girl. Here she is having an absolute ball with her friends.

19-06-24 UPDATE

Tesler has been in foster for several weeks now and is making really good progress.
She’s generally a quiet girl but does get very excited at meal times and getting ready to go for a walk. Lead training was a breeze and going for a walk is definitely her favourite thing so she would love an active home.  She starts her walk off with a lot of enthusiasm and she’s quite strong and does pull. She does settle quite quickly and then walks beautifully but this will need to be considered by any potential adopters. She tends to play on her own but does like to snuggle up with my resident dogs, so a smaller or similar sized gentle friend would be ideal. Tesler is still quite timid (unless the harness comes out) so will need time to adjust to her new home and family. She loves a stroke when she’s settled on the sofa or on the bed and will give hand licks if I stop. She really is a beautiful girl who will make a super addition to the right family.

16-08-24 UPDATE
Tesler is a lovely quiet girl who has made so much progress in foster. She loves and walks beautifully on the lead, enjoys treats and will ask for a good rub. She loves toys and something to chew. She gets on well with most dogs but can be a little overwhelmed if they are larger and excitable so a calm, similar or smaller sized friend would be best. She travels well in the car. The only time she really barks is when she’s excited (if I’ve been out) but I have monitored her when she’s been left and she doesn’t make a peep or get distressed. Tesler really is the perfect girl.

21-11-24 UPDATE
Tesler has come on beautifully whilst in foster. She is still a little nervous at times but mostly she’s a happy and relaxed girl. She didn’t react at all to fireworks even when she was outside and they were going off nearby. She has recently started to play with my resident dogs but is very gentle and doesn’t get over excited or boisterous. She will need regular grooming and is fairly cooperative but typically doesn’t like her feet being done but doesn’t show any aggression. She’s made really good progress with house training but needs encouragement to go outside when the weather is rainy.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
