01-02-2024 Rose is a special girl who needs a special home. She has been returned after adoption as she goes into a complete panic when being picked up and handled at times and then makes the wrong decisions out of fear. Rose has been through a lot and has little trust in people, she came to us from a breeder originally. Despite Rose's fear she does take treats from people and when she knows you and you go slowly you can stroke her gently on the head. She is happy in the company of other dogs and LOVES to play with toys, she just needs a lot of time, patience and experienced handling over time to help her learn to trust people's intentions and help her become comfortable. Rose will need a very experienced home to ensure she is set up for success with adopters that understand she needs lots of time and continuous work to help her improve. Rose is now used to living in a home but is still learning to go out on walks in secure places. Rose would ideally need a home where she can go on walks when ready in very secure areas where handling would not be needed unless she chooses so that she doesn't make any wrong decisions in panic. Rose can and will react in fear if she is pushed and even now is still not comfortable being handled by people - her adopters will need to be aware of this and slowly put the work in that she needs to put her trust in people in her own time. She will need an adult only home with no children or visiting children. Rose is such a special girl who has been through so much and really needs that special person to come forward and make her world complete. Rose has a Grade 1 heart murmur, she doesn't require any medication for this but it is something her adopters and their vet will need to monitor going forwards

02-02-24 UPDATE

Rose needs a special home that will give her all the time she needs to build up her trust. It needs to be an adult only home with no visiting children. She loves nothing more than the company of other dogs so another dog is essential to help her understand things are ok .
I’ve clipped Rose and as the groom went on she slowly relaxed ,but having said that she will need a groomer with knowledge of scared dogs. She does allow you to gently stroke her and if she doesn’t want you to she will simply move out of the way.
I have found that she loves to be in your company even to the point that she comes into the grooming room with me while I’m working. She also likes to come to bed and sleeps all night.
Do you think that you have the experience to help her understand that the world is no longer a place to fear but somewhere she can feel safe and learn that hands and voices can be gentle.

01-03-24 UPDATE
Rose is truly a sweet girl that loves to watch from the side lines, but having said that she likes to be in both dog and human company.
She gets on with my older dogs and even plays with the puppy that we have.
Rose doesn’t need cuddling, but she does need patience and time.  She needs to be allowed time to go at her own pace.
Walking needs to be in a safe space where there are no scary situations that she’d have to face.  Ideally she’s looking for a home that has had experience with scared dogs.
Rose will allow the odd stroke, but it has to be on her own terms.

16-08-24 UPDATE
 x
I’ve given Rose time to settle and start to trust .  She’s an absolutely beautiful girl that gets on with all dogs large or small.
She loves nothing more than being in your company, having said that things still need to be slow when you approach her just to let her know your intentions.
I’ve now clipped Rose off twice ( as she does become a fluff monster) and both times she’s been amazing.
Rose is house trained and will quite happily take herself outside to toilet.
Rose is looking for a special someone that will continue to show her hands are kind and above all a resident dog she can learn from and curl up with as she loves to snuggle with her furry friends.
Please give Rose a chance and you will be rewarded with the company of a sweet soul.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
