If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

05-06-24 Tilly originally came to us as a puppy after she was found in a dump in Romania. She was adopted and found a wonderful home, however she didn't get along with one of the resident dogs in her home and could not be left unattended with her. Despite her adopters managing this to the best of their ability, following a recent incident they felt that it would be in both dogs best interests to rehome Tilly.
Tillys main issue stems from food agression, but this is only directed towards other dogs and not humans. But for this reason Tilly will be looking for an adult only home, with no visiting children and where she can be the only dog and have all the fuss and attention to herself.
She is a wonderful girl who is very sweet, very cuddly and super affectionate with the people she knows and trusts. She absolutely loves belly rubs! She loves her walks and is walked on a halti as she can pull. She can struggle with her recall and can be wary of other dogs and strangers so she has not been allowed off the lead. She loved to play with the resident labradoodle in her home and got along well with her and only had an issue with the smaller terrier. She sleeps well at night, is crate trained and we believe she is also toilet trained.
All in all, Tilly is a wonderful girl and in the right home envrionment she is truly going to thrive so please don't leave her waiting too long.
Tilly was tested for Brucella as a puppy before departing Romania and this test result was negative and a copy of this will be included in her adoption pack. Her adopters feel she may be a Mioritic Shepherd but without a DNA test we wouldn't be able to confirm this.

12-06-24 UPDATE

Tilly is the sweetest lady, kennel life is not easy for her as she has previously lived in a home. However this lovely lady is adapting to life with us and we have found she absolutely loves going out for walks and I now get a lots of tail wags when I go into her kennel. Tilly has an easy going nature, she is is very happy and comfortable around humans, she does take a minute to get used to new people and situations but that is very understandable in a kennel environment. Tilly is looking for a home as the only dog. This very sweet lady would love to find her new home soon, she really does deserve to be around kind humans who will enjoy going for little adventures with her and giving her a fuss.

25-06-24 UPDATE

I met Tilly for the first time today and I was surprised how quick she took to me.
Although initially she was a little shy, she soon let me put her lead on her and quite enjoyed a gentle fuss.
While out, she was a little wary of the barking sounds which is completely understandable, but the second we were outside she started pulling with confidence!
She is a sweet girl and would make a great addition to a family but will need to be an only dog in the home, as she just will not share things, especially her food.
In light of this I recommend a home that has plenty of time and commitment to spend time to train her appropriately.

22-07-24 UPDATE

Tilly is a pretty girl who originally came to us from a home. Its the second time I've met Tilly, the first time I met her she was nervous and didn't want to come near me, but today as soon as her kennel gate opened she came trotting right on over to me and let me give her a big fuss. From what I can see she is coming on so well, she's more confident and enjoys fusses from people, she walks brilliantly on a harness, she can pull a bit but it isn't all the time and with some training I'm confident this will stop. She also knows some tricks like, sit, paw and lay. We think she'd be best suited to living as only dog due to her tendency to guard and not share her bed space overnight. She has come a long way since arriving managing to socialise with a wide variety of other dogs regularly at the rescue and gradually getting confident with some kennel staff. Tilly is such a smart, funny and beautiful girl and I have no doubt that she could easily become your best friend, she will definitely love going out on long walks with you as she already enjoys going out on walks here at the rescue. She deserves to be on the sofa with you at the end of the day and I really hope it won’t be long before she does this with her forever family.

14-08-24 UPDATE

This wonderful lady is Tilly, I have been working with her for some time now and she is full of love and affection. She already knows the basic commands of sit and down and will wait patiently to be rewarded. At first Tilly can be a little shy but once warmed up to you she’ll become your best friend.
She is not a fan of big crowds so busy built up areas such as shops and cafes wouldn’t be best for her; she’d much prefer open fields and beaches so that when she is confident and trained up enough she can run free. She loves to socialise with other dogs and has made many play friends whilst here, she loves frolicking and zooming around the big yard chasing or being chased by others.

This week Tilly had her first full groom since being back with us and she did so well! I stayed with her the whole time so she wouldn’t be as anxious with our groomer that she hadn’t met before but she was an absolute dream and sat perfectly still!
We took some pictures in the garden shown above to show off her new trim.
Being almost 30 kilos, Tilly is on the larger side of dogs and would need someone strong enough to handle her on the lead, she walks very well but can pull sometimes when she gets excited or sees a cat. This also means she wouldn’t be able to be homed with any cats or small furries.
Tilly is such a fantastic lady and I’m still shocked to see her here wasting in kennels. A quiet home with adults only and no cats.

20-08-24 UPDATE
Tilly was checked by our vets at the start of August and noted to have sore hips, she was monitored and received medication. She has been rechecked a week later and the vet noted that she has no obvious pain in her hips currently but does have reduced extension of her left hip. The vets have advised x-rays as when she is off pain relief she appears painful when getting up from lying down and can struggle to get up at times. Currently Tilly is on a strict exercise regime including lead walks, gentle exercises aimed to build up her muscles for 6 weeks to see if this will improve the situation.
