Status: AvailableID: 30572 Name: Pelli Breed: Cocker Spaniel Age: 11 Years Gender: Female Adoption Fee: See below | |
Location: In Foster in Wakefield, Yorkshire |
18-05-24 Pelli originally came from a breeder and was adopted a few years ago. Unfortunately, through no fault of her own, her owner is no longer able to keep her and she has gone straight into foster. Pelli is a gentle girl who is a little unsure at times, but is adapting well to her new surroundings. She is clean in the house, sleeps soundly next to my bed and loves her walks - she may be an older lady but she's no couch potato, no one has told her to slow down and she's always first in line when the leads comes out. Pelli has dry eye so needs an adopter who is able to continue her treatment, she is also prone to lip fold dermatitis so this would need to be monitored and has two small mammary lumps that have been monitored over time and the vet believes it to be cysts. These, again, would need to be monitored. Pelli gets on well with dogs of all sizes and would like a quiet home with a canine friend or two to help build her confidence further.
09-08-24 UPDATE
This older lady is still waiting for her forever retirement home. Pelli is an easy girl to have around, she waits patiently for her medication to be administered, loves her walks and can be left for a few hours with her canine friends. If you have a space in your heart and home for this affectionate girl, please apply.
29-10-2024 UPDATE
Pelli is still waiting for her forever home. She is looking for that special person who has the time and resources to deal with her medical needs - but the affection they get in return will more than compensate. As previously mentioned, she suffers from dry eye, lip fold dermatitis and has a couple of lumps that need to be monitored, although they haven't changed whilst she's been in foster. To add to this, it was noticed that Pelli had a damp patch around her back end and was smelling slightly of urine. It was thought that she was becoming incontinent and is now on medication which appears to be effective as there is no longer any leakage or urine odour. This medication will be life long. Is that special person out there?
PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
