If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

27-05-2024 Tishka is a wonderful very sweet girl who has been returned to us as she has not been getting along with the resident dog. Originally she came from a breeder to find her forever home and was adopted in 2021. Tishka is a very sweet girl who has greatly improved from the terrified dog she originally arrived at the rescue as but still needs a very calm, mindful home that can help Tishka continue to improve and progress especially with all of the recent change she has experienced. Tishka is a very sweet girl once settled and knows the routine of the home, she gets excited to go outside and loves going for walks in calm areas. She enjoys a fuss for a short while and is easy to handle and brush.
Tishka is looking for a calm adult only home which is quite quiet without lots of visitors where she can settle into the routine and with an adopter who has experience of ex-breeding dogs. Although most scared ex-breeding dogs need another dog in their home, Tishka isn't keen on sharing her space with other dogs and so would be looking for a home as an only dog. She would like to meet other dogs regularly for socialisation though. Tishka is still quite reserved around people and can shy away especially with noises, adopters will have to earn her trust and love through gentleness and positive reinforcement, she has barked at visitors in the past when they go into the garden. Tishka can be more wary of men (especially with loud voices and large stature) so adopters will need to be mindful of this and set her up for success.
Tishka enjoys lots of enrichment in a day and loves going to secure fields although can be easily spooked especially with traffic passing so Tishka would thrive more so in a rural home or with lots of rural areas to walk in. She can be strong on the lead so adopters will need to be prepared for this. She can be a flight risk and can bolt through an open door so will need a secure home.
Tishka is for the most part housetrained but we've been told this is very reliant on the areas in which she can sleep in overnight - somewhere she is comfortable, is very quiet and secure.
Tishka has had polyps removed from her colon during her original stay at the rescue and then again whilst adopted in the early years. She is now doing very well but does have a small drops of blood visible on occasion when she poo's, this is acceptable currently but will need to be monitored. Keeping her diet such that she does not pass hard faeces really helps her with this.

17-06-24 UPDATE

I had the honour to meet Tishka today for the first time.  I’m in love with this girl. And it was obvious from the minute I met her, she is sad, unsure and heartbroken, a girl who is not adapting to kennel life and is missing a home. She was very nervous and ran to the back of the kennel when I went to see her, however when out in yard she did come up to me, she seemed more comfortable with space around her where she could run to if she felt uneasy.  Thankfully, Tishka was not as nervous with her kennel mammies who look after her daily. She will need a forever family who will be patient with her, and understand she will need time to decompress.  As mentioned she is uneasy in human presence especially when she doesn’t know you, she will need a a home that has experience with flighty and nervous dogs.  She is a sweet girl and I felt heartbroken every time I looked in her eyes.  To her forever family: please be patient with her, she will need time to get used to her new adopters. I pray there is a kind, loving, experienced, home that will see and apply for her very soon .. Tishka is really sad in the kennels.

10-07-24 UPDATE

I would love to introduce you to the wonderful Tishka. This beautiful, serene lady is a joy to work with and has the most kind manners. She doesn’t pull on the lead, takes treats gently and won’t jump up or bowl you over! Although we would like to rehome Tishka as an only dog (she doesn’t like sharing in confined spaces) she absolutely loves to socialise with all her new friends she has made in kennels! Big yard time is her favourite, she will wait patiently for her turn to get kitted out and will walk alongside the pack down to the yard where she tends to spend most of her time rolling around. She enjoys plenty of fuss and cuddles from her kennel mums and is in my eyes the perfect example of a lady. I hope this girl doesn’t have to wait too long to be snapped up by the perfect family she deserves

28-08-24 UPDATE

Tishka is such a beautiful girl who really shouldn't still be sitting in kennels waiting. She is such an easy girl to look after and people are always saying they're looking for an only dog, yet here Tishka sits and waits for those people to give her a second look and truly see her. She is nervous of new people, but once she trusts you, she truly loves you and wants to be by your feet. She loves food, does enjoy toys when she's in the mood and mixes very well with dogs outside of her space. She is a truly special girl who in a rescue experienced home will thrive. She also enjoys a good brush to keep her looking absolutely beautiful.

Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
