10-04-21 Sia is a stunning Mastiff cross who has come from a breeder to find her forever home. She has arrived with a cyst on her tail and an injury to her back paw which our vet is monitoring but needs regular rebandaging. She also has ingrowing eyelashes which the vet will operate on and this will make her more comfortable.  She was an absolute superstar to have her bandages changed this morning and is so tolerant despite her paw being sore. Sia walks beautifully on a lead and just loves to lie down in a deep, comfy, soft bed. Although she has not lived inside before and will need to learn all about home life and house training, we do think she is going to love being someone's special, big girl. She will need a home without children as she is a big dog and needs someone with plenty of time to devote to her. All she dreams of is affection and we REALLY think she is incredibly special. Please get your form in before the staff all argue over who can adopt her first!

Please note: We do show her injury in the video below so please be mindful of watching if you are squeamish.

28-04-21 UPDATE

It is only 17 days since Sylvia took the video of Sias' paw and look at it now, it's very nearly healed and she no longer needs it bandaged. She still wears her pink bootie to go out into the yard or onto some grass, but she is raring to go and is desperate to go walking but we can't let her use her paw too much just yet.
Sia has been an absolute angel and so gentle with us. Sia has met a few dogs here, firstly were the 3 or 4 small dogs that wander around the vets and she was good meeting them. Today she met female and male labradors and was lovely with them. We also cat tested Sia but unfortunately we found out that Sia can't live with cats.
Sia is easy to look after in kennels. I haven't heard her bark yet, she doesn't chew bedding, likes her soft toys and always eats all her dinner. She lets us easily apply her eye drops but she probably won't need them once her eyes have been sorted. She is not demanding but will absorb all the love you can give. Sia does pull a bit on the lead and is strong, but this can be worked with.

11-05-21 UPDATE

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
