If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

24-02-21 Kudu is a very pretty Hound who is here with us to find a loving home. She looks like she may have some beagle in her too. She is a worried girl who has not seen much of the big wide world before and has never lived in a home so knows nothing of home skills such as housetraining or walking on a lead. Although this sweet girl is scared of all the changes in her life she adores the company of other dogs and will need a kind dog in her new home. She is such a gentle soul and we would consider homing her with teenaged children. She needs someone who has the time, patience and love to help her become the best she can be. In time she will settle, bloom and enjoy long walks with you.
Our vet has discovered that Kudu has a Grade 2-3 heart murmur. This doesn't effect her at all and she isn't on any medication for this at the moment, but it's something her adopters will need to be aware of and monitor with their vet.

13-03-21 UPDATE

Kudu has made amazing progress since being with us. With those staff that she is familiar with, she is loving, playful and naughty, but remains shy with strangers. In typical beagle fashion she loves her food, but is very responsive even when no food is on offer. Such a gentle and loving girl to her human carers and to her kennel friend.

02-04-21 UPDATE

Kudu has been staying in a foster home for a few days now and settled really well. She gets along with my dogs (female beagle and male lab) and wants to run and play with them all day! Kudu has been out on long walks in the forest wearing a harness and a long lead and was very well behaved (she did roll in fox poo, but then she is a proper hound, isn't she?). Night times are easy too - she sleeps quietly all night in a very large crate with my beagle for company.
Kudu is an active, busy hound with amazing nose who will really enjoy doing some scent work or trailing to keep her mind working and her owners fit and healthy! We would prefer a home with a good sized garden and experience of having had scent hounds before, no cats please, and where the kids are secondary school age.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
