18-02-21 Candy is a very pretty female greyhound who has come to us to find her forever home. She is a friendly and playful girl who LOVEs to chase balls, but doesn't quite know how to bring them back yet! She is so very gentle and confident and could be an only dog in the right circumstances. With time and love, we're sure it won't take her too long to settle in to her new home. She walks well on a lead, but we will be walking her on a muzzle, just to ensure any local wildlife are kept safe. She will need a home without small dogs, cats or small furries and would be best suited to an adult only home.
Candy has a passport.

23-02-23 UPDATE

Graceful and docile Candy has settled in wonderfully to her new environment and enjoys her time out in the yard and the round pen. She will need an active owner who can provide her with ample opportunity to expend her energy and stretch her legs!
Candy loves a run but is also very affectionate and cuddly.  When taken out for some exercise today she seemed to prefer to stay near humans for attention. I have no doubt that she'd make for an excellent (although large) lap-dog.
She's currently kennelled with another greyhound and could be homed with a larger dog, but we believe she could also be an only dog in the right home. We must ensure however that she is not homed with smaller dogs or other animals such as cats.

02-03-21 UPDATE

Candy is a lovely gentle girl who would make a great family dog as she loves people and attention but could also be homed with other larger dogs. She was living in the kennel with another greyhound but we had to separate them as her friend kept catching his tail when playing so they are apart for his tail to recover. Like most greyhounds, she does like to chase small furry things, so she will need a home without small dogs, cats and other small furry animals.
She would suit most families as she loves to play and go for walks but also loves to chill out and have a cuddle. I would say families with young children would need experience in this breed as although she is gentle, she is big and can run fast and could accidentally knock over young children when excited.
At moment she has sore feet and doesn’t like walking over stones so will need a little gentle start in her new home with shorter walks to help her paws recover. She is a very special girl and has captured my heart with her loving personality, so please consider her.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
