If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

18-02-21 Sprinter is a very handsome make Greyhound who has come to us to find his forever home. He is a very friendly and confident boy with a wonderful character! He lets us handle him easily and really, really loves to have his ears stroked. He would make a fantastic only dog, as long as his new owners were around most of the time but we will assess him with other dogs too in the coming days. He will need a home without small dogs, cats or small furries. We will be walking him on a muzzle to help keep him from chasing any local wildlife. Sprinter will need time and patience to learn new skills such as housetraining. He would be best suited to a home where any children are experienced and at least secondary school age.

05-03-21 UPDATE
I’ve been working with this beautiful soul since he arrived and I’ve fallen head over heels in love with him! He’s sweet, cheeky, comical and has a lot of love to give. He’s currently kennelled with a female greyhound who he gets on perfectly with, and he meets other dogs on walks fine too. Because of this, Sprinter can be homed with a large female dog, or he could also be an only dog if his owners were around most of the time. We walk Sprinter with a muzzle on just in case his instinct kicks in, but he’s absolutely fine with wearing it.
Sprinter loves his food, walks and his big comfy bed. He’s happy going for 2 hour walks, but he’s also happy going for 20 minute walks. A lot of people automatically assume greyhounds are really active dogs and want to be out and about all the time, but in fact it’s quite the opposite. They’re quite lazy dogs that love the comforts of a sofa or a bed!
Because Sprinter is such a kind and gentle boy, we would be willing to home him with older children as long as they are sensible and respectful. He is a big boy so the parents would have to be responsible too!

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
