If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

13-12-2020 Grivei is a really sweet chap who has come all the way from Romania to find a safe home. He has not known a loving home before that so many of our own dogs take for granted. He has never had a Christmas, or a birthday, or even a duvet day. He has come to Many Tears and we will change all that for him and he has a lifetime of good things to look forward to now. Grivei is a shy boy when he first meets and who can blame him? We have no clue of what he may have gone through in the past. Grivei will allow us to approach him and stroke him and we don't think it will be long until he is looking forward to a gentle fuss.He is learning to walk on a lead and is more comfortable as an only dog. A dog like Grivei really needs a lucky break, to be givin the chance of a happy life by somebody kind and patient. Grivei will need a home with someone who has experience of scared rescue dogs. If that's you then this lovely boy who is so full of potential is waiting for you. He has a passport and would like to be an only dog. Grivei will need a cat free home.

28-12-20 UPDATE

Grivei is a very handsome dog, he is content with his own company, to sit back and to watch the world go by, UNTIL it is his turn to have a fuss from someone that he trusts. He took a little while to become animated and to be totally relaxed in my company, but this is not unusual, we do not know what hardship that he has endured in the past. After getting to know me for a few days, he is now totally relaxed with me, he is finding humans are fun and that we regularly provide tasty food. Grivei is the height of a small collie. At this time I would not home him with young children as he may find them too busy.

29-12-20 UPDATE

Grivie is a very gentle boy who will quietly come up to greet you when you enter his kennel. He can be a little stand off ish at first but is a really sweet dog who loves a fuss. He would make a great companion and likes to spend time with you.

04-01-21 UPDATE

Grivei, also known as Silver Fox, is a striking 2 year old boy whose come all the way from Romania to find love, happiness and security with a forever family here in the UK.
Most Romanian dogs experience some of the worst animal abuse and see some of the worst atrocities... It is no different for this beautiful boy.
Despite this, Grivei is doing extremely well. He is a calm, quiet, relaxed boy, who although shy initially, comes out of his shell pretty quickly when he feels he can trust you.
Infact, he is extremely popular amongst all us staff! ... When he sees his human friends coming along, he will become extremely animated, goofy, puppy like and perform a very unique, special happy dance, that makes him even more adorable!
(I am writing this while in the sandschool with Grivei, and both Mark and Rhys have both come over to say hello to him and to say how much they both love him! Rhys has just pointed out that Grivei also sometimes greets us with a little smile ... He has beautiful white teeth, but his smile is a bit, uhm, comical shall we say!
Grivei now walks brilliantly on a lead, but, when he wants to go for a walk! Some staff members have been known to carry him back to his kennel, others have had to stand and wait until he's ready to move, which I find very funny! My first walking experience with him involved me standing there for a while, bribing him with treats, and all of a sudden - he was off! Happy, waggy, while he pranced down the road! He actually thoroughly enjoyed himself and didn't want to go back into his kennel in the end!
Grivei is kennel clean, loves his food - has a good appetite and loves treats too. He is calm and relaxed in kennels, spending most his time curled up in bed or sitting down looking like a very well behaved boy at the front of his kennel.
At the moment Grivei is kennelled by himself because he doesn't like to share his toys/food/beds/humans very much, so we are looking for him to be adopted and be the only dog in his forever home. His future owners will need to be extra aware and understanding of the fact that home life will be very strange for him to begin with. I have no doubt he'll settle in well pretty quickly though.
So ... Gorgeous Grivei is available to adopt, and if you are interested, please put in an application. I have to go now, as Grivei is sitting infront of me very patiently waiting for me to put my phone away ... He's gazing into my eyes ... He's such a doting boy bless him. There's something very special about this boy. I love his calm nature ... It seems to rub off on people. I love the way he lifts his front leg up when you give him a bum and back scratch. Whoever adopts him is going to be so very lucky!

12-01-21 UPDATE

Grivei is still waiting for his forever home! What a beautiful boy he is with such a lovely soul, he loves having cuddles and is everyones friend. Grivie would like to be an only dog as he likes to have his bed and toys all to himself but who can blame him he hasn't had much in life so to have his very own things must be such a relief. Grivie is going to make such a great companion for that someone special.

26-01-21 UPDATE
Grivei was very briefly adopted but was returned after a few days as he did not seem to settle in the home. Grivei will need adopters who are experienced with rescue dogs, particularly with those who have had rough start to life. He is a lovely lad but is not suited to first time dog owners. Grivei would like to be homed as an only dog and would like his new owners to be around the vast majority of the time.

15-02-21 UPDATE

Grivei is an extremely sweet and popular boy among all the staff at the rescue. Grivei will usually approach me sideways with a little bit of a smile to show me, he loves to come for a cuddle with anyone he has built a connection with. Grivei walks well on a lead, and loves to go out and see all he can. Grivei would love a home with just human family to give him all the fuss and attention he has dreamed of.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
