If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

17-02-20 Dusky is a 3 year old poodle cross who has come to us from a breeder. Dusky is a happy boy and will approach people in his kennel with a waggy tail. He will need to go to a home where his people are around most of the time they must bear in mind he has never lived in a home before.  Dusky walks on a lead and is a very clever boy so we think he will soon pick up house training and the other skills he will need to learn about being a pet. Dusky will need to be homed with a resident dog as he frets when he's without others.

05-03-20 UPDATE
Dusky was returned to us recently from his new home after a very brief adoption, however it wasn't due to any fault of his own. His adopted family explained that he didn't settle in as soon as they would have hoped and was showing signs of being stressed at night.
He was only gone a few days so we would have hoped for him to have had more time to settle in to his new environment but sadly it wasn't to be.
Dusky is such a lovable character, he will be such a loyal companion to his new guardian and will want to be with them everywhere they go! He may develop a quicker bond with males we've noticed but he certainly loves anybody who is willing to spend time with him and he greeted his kennel mum with the same level of excitement as his kennel dad.
He will sometimes wrap his legs around you anytime that he feels you are about to leave him so he really will need someone who is able to dedicate a lot of their time to be there for him otherwise he will become very sad and lonely quickly.
He likes the company of other dogs however and is a sociable lad so will quite happily share his new abode with a new friend or two. A relatively confident dog who is happy with a playful sidekick would be perfect so he can be kept occupied with them while his human companion(s) are busy throughout the day. A person or settled family that will be home most of the day is what he will need so he can be involved in any activity that's going down. Dusky is a very special boy and I'm going to be sad to see him go but he so deserves his second chance at his forever home and will not disappoint his new family!
✔️ Walks great on a lead
✔️ Playful nature
✔️ Loves people/hates being alone
✔️ Companion for Life
✔️ Cat friendly

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS

**FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 AND HOW IT IS AFFECTING MANY TEARS AND OUR ADOPTIONS PROCEDURES PLEASE CLICK HERE BEFORE APPLYING FOR ANY DOGS**
The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog.
Large breed dogs over 25kg cost us considerably more  to spay and neuter so if you are adopting a large breed dog we would be very grateful of an extra suggested donation of £10 towards this increased cost to help us keep running.
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
