16-2-20 Easter is an ex-breeding Maltese cross who has come to us to find her forever home.  She is nervous and  will not approach us for a fuss just yet but of her kennel friends are more confident so we are hoping Easter will soon realise we are here to help her and then become a little braver.  She will need at least one other dog in her new home to help her settle and who she can watch and then start to copy.  This is help her with things like house training and lead walking but what she really needs is kind, gentle owners who understand she will need time to adjust and get used to this brand new world she has never seen before.

26-02-20 UPDATE

Easter is a lovely Maltese cross who when shefirst  came to us was so scared and shut down. In the short time she has been here she has made so much progress. Easter will now come up to you for attention and is easy to handle and shares her food well. Easter will need another dog or dogs in her new home to help her adjust to home life and learn new skills.

08-03-20 UPDATE
Easter had a bath today and although very afraid she tolerated it without any snapping. She is very afraid and is panic running, you can throw her a treat and she will move to get it.  Sometimes if hidden amongst a lot of dogs she will let you smooth her, so another dog is a must for Easter.  Given time she has the heart of a lovely girl that looks at you with lovely dark eyes on her journey to a new life.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog.
Large breed dogs over 25kg cost us considerably more  to spay and neuter so if you are adopting a large breed dog we would be very grateful of an extra suggested donation of £10 towards this increased cost to help us keep running.
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
