11-2-20 - Syrup is a gorgeous fluffy Cavalier cross Pug who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is very sweet and quiet here in kennels. She can be a little timid at first but she is easy to handle and will accept a stroke. Syrup will need another kind resident dog or dogs in her new home to help her gain some confidence and to help teach her skills like house training and lead walking. Syrup will gently eat out of our hands and will allow us to fuss her slowly. With time and love she will soon start to realise how wonderful life can be for her now and will make the mosting loving addition to her new families home. Syrup has cherry eye on her right eye, but our vet will asses this.

14-02-20 UPDATE
Syrup has now had her cherry eye repaired by the vet and is recovering well. She does have a Grade 3 to 4 heart murmur that will need to be monitored by her new vet in the future.

16-05-20 UPDATE

Syrup is a gaining confidence in her foster home.  She is a beautiful Cavalier cross and the size of a large Cavalier. She has a lovely chestnut coloured coat with some black & white on her face & ears.
Syrup can still sometimes jump at some loud noises or if you move towards her too fast . She will take treats gently from us and will except a stroke on her head.
Syrup is clean in the house, sleeps through the night and loves her food. We have not yet started her on harness and lead but hopefully this will start soon.
Syrup is in foster with other Cavaliers and gets on well with them all. She will need another dog in her forever home to help her gain confidence and her family would need the time, patience and lots of love for her to progress. Unfortunately young children would be too much at the moment for Syrup. The photos of Syrup do not do her justice as she didn't like the camara!

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog.
Large breed dogs over 25kg cost us considerably more  to spay and neuter so if you are adopting a large breed dog we would be very grateful of an extra suggested donation of £10 towards this increased cost to help us keep running.
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
