10-02-20 - Ashira is a darling 6 year old beagle who has come to us from a breeder. Poor Ashira is very confused, unsure and overwhelmed at the moment. She doesnt know where she is, or why she is here and so she just stares off into space. We hope that given a few days to settle Ashira will start to understand that we are all here to help her and she can relax around us. Ashira has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion she just needs someone to give her a chance. Ashira will need to go to a home with another kind resident dog that can help Ashira come out of her shell and teach her to enjoy all of the things that dogs should love. Being homed with another dog will also help Ashira learn things like toilet training and lead walking.

19-02-20 UPDATE
Ashira has settled in very well during her short time with us but she really hopes to find her forever home sooner rather than later. After only her first couple of days with us she has come out of her shell and shown she wants to interact with us. She loves to receive a big hug from people she knows, procure a belly rub or butt scratch and doesn't mind some rough and tumble as well!
Ashira is still shy of new people she hasn't met but in a home environment she will settle down fine and show what a wonderful girl she is. On her second day she was brave and willing to let me take her out for a walk on her own despite being anxious and now she is a lot more confident when going out for short walks by herself or with another dog. She should have no problem losing the extra weight she is carrying as she is quite active when outside and does love to have a good run, which is nice to watch her in action!
Ashira is also very fond of being out in the play yard during the day and she loves nothing more than to chase tennis balls and return them to you with a big smile on her face. It would be nice for her to have a canine buddy or two in her new home as I regularly see her cuddled up with her kennel friends throughout the day. She will rest her head upon them in some awkward looking positions for herself, which shows how much she enjoys their company. In the right home though I do believe she could also be an only dog, however, it would have to be a place where someone would be home all day as she will get very lonely and sad quite quickly.
She will also need someone who is relatively active as they will need to continue working with her on her diet and exercise. If you feel you could offer Ashira the home she deserves then please let us know. She's going to make such a loyal companion to one lucky person or family out there that will be gaining a new best friend.

✔️ Walks on a lead
✔️ Sweet temperament
✔️ Family friendly
✔️ Loves to play fetch

03-03-20 UPDATE

I met Ashira for the first time today and what a wonderful dog she is. She would make a great family dog as an only or with other dogs. She walks lovely and plays nicely, although can be a bit much due to her size, so would be best homed with slightly older children. She loves playing fetch as well as getting cuddles but most of all she loves just being out and about. I’m sure in a home environment she will burn off her stored energy reserves as she just loves to run and play. If you could offer this lovely girl a home, please come and meet her.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, however if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog.
Large breed dogs over 25kg cost us considerably more  to spay and neuter so if you are adopting a large breed dog we would be very grateful of an extra suggested donation of £50 towards this increased cost to help us keep running.
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
