09-01-2020 Zena is a dear 5 year old ex breeding Bichon who has come to us to find her forever home. She is quite a scared little girl, who arrive with an old injury that has torn her ear and will need another canine friend in her new home to help her come out of her shell. She is ready to love, and find new owners to give her a happy home. She has never lived in a home before so will not be walking on a lead or be house trained. Little dogs like these just need our love and kindness.

17-01-20 UPDATE
Zena has seen the vet who has found that she has the start of cataracts or possibly vitreous degeneration which is genetic.  If it's vitreous degenerationthis cannot be treated but if it's cataracts these will be able to be done and is something her new owners will need to consider as insurance will not cover the cost of this.

25-02-20 UPDATE

Since arriving yesterday Zena has been the perfect house guest :
• clean in house and used the garden for all toilet breaks
• slept quietly in her crate in the kitchen all night
• greeted my dogs and home with respect
But above all that she has really enjoyed exploring the garden, playing with food toys and just being a dog. She is a really super sweet girl who deserves so much to be loved. She may have limited sight but it is not holding her back here!

15-03-20 UPDATE

Zena is an incredible dog , who I admire so much as nothing is going to stop her from being the dog she is.  She walks on lead round the block and is not worried about noises, sleeps quietly in the crate all night, loves other dogs and absolutely loves food games. Zena does not let the fact her sight is not great stop her from getting on with life, everyone should meet a dog like Zena - she is truly inspirational

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS

**FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 AND HOW IT IS AFFECTING MANY TEARS AND OUR ADOPTIONS PROCEDURES PLEASE CLICK HERE BEFORE APPLYING FOR ANY DOGS**
The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog.
Large breed dogs over 25kg cost us considerably more  to spay and neuter so if you are adopting a large breed dog we would be very grateful of an extra suggested donation of £10 towards this increased cost to help us keep running.
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
