20-12-19 Lucky is a 6 year old ex breeding Cocker Spaniel who has come into us from a breeder to find her forever home. Poor Lucky has entropion where her eye lashes rub against her eyes making them sore. We have repaired this twice at Many Tears but as her eyes are quite small and her eyelids are large it's possible she may need further surgery in future. Lucky is also  a little overweight so will be on a sensible diet to help her lose a few pounds. She is the  sweetest little lady who will need another kind resident dog or dogs to live with in her new home. Lucky has never lived in a home before, so will not be house trained and needs to learn how to walk on a lead but these things will come with time, love and patience. Lucky has her own passport.

24-02-20 UPDATE

No longer in pain and able to see without restriction, Lucky now enthuses life.  It is so difficult to get a picture that portrays her true character. It is hilarious watching her enjoying herself running around the home and garden, avoiding the six large breed dogs that she lives with, thinking nothing of going under their bodies if they are in her way.
Since she arrived in our home, she has been the constant companion to Lola a little shih tzu.  They have snuggled together whilst both recovered from surgery. Although Lucky will walk alone with me, she finds it difficult to be alone in the home without another dog in the same room as her, for this reason she can only be rehomed where there is already at least one resident dog, size does not matter, but it is imperative that she will be allowed to snuggle with them.
We call her our little magpie, her favourite possessions are towels, the one that hangs from the rayburn towel rail is constantly 'stolen' and taken to her bed along with the dog towels.
Lucky now deserves the best of homes where she will be treated with the kindness that she so deserves. Such a joy to share our home and hearts with.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog.
Large breed dogs over 25kg cost us considerably more  to spay and neuter so if you are adopting a large breed dog we would be very grateful of an extra suggested donation of £10 towards this increased cost to help us keep running.
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
