If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

01-10-19 Buster is a super sweet boy who is incredibly shut down, to the point he is too scared to pee or poo. He can not eat in front of you (it’s too much pressure).
He has been with me just under a week and he has moved once of his own accord. This poor little lad is just frozen. Unlike most exbreeders, he hasn’t even taken comfort from my own dogs. Saying all this he is a super kind little dog. Even though he is so terrified he never does anything wrong. He takes no comfort from me, but does love a snuggly bed. At this precise moment he is too scared to move but at some point this will turn to flight.

What we need:
He is going to need an incredibly safe home, with somebody who can give him time. He most definitely need another dog. I do believe he will eventually pair up with another dog that will help him learn.
His new owners MUST be prepared for the long haul (although not hard, he will need a lot of time to trust). He has known nothing nice in life. It’s utterly heartbreaking.
They must also be happy to listen, these shut down little dogs need a special approach.

What you’ll get:
Given the time you will have the most incredible bond with an absolute sweetheart of a dog. The relationship, trust and love you’ll eventually get back will be like no other.
If you have time.
If you have love
If you want to help a ghost of a dog
Please ask about Buster

13-10-19 UPDATE

Buster has come a long way, but still has a long journey ahead too.

The big steps forward:
Buster will now take a few steps on a lead
He will eat in the same room as us
He plays with my dogs
He loves a cuddle on the sofa
He is 99.9% house trained now
He is great with my cats
He has found a few toys and had a small play with them

The journey ahead:
He still finds it incredibly hard with visitors (this can send him backwards) and it’s not realistic that no one will ever visit but his new adopted MUST be aware that these are potential bolt situations.
He is going through a puppyhood time that he has missed so when brave is wanting to play and chew (his bed)

What he needs:
Buster MUST have a confident resident dog
A very secure garden in a quiet location
A quiet home will enable him to progress
Somebody who is happy to listen and take advice
A super careful owner who will take no risks

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
