08-08-19 Barbara is a 5 year old ex-breeding cocker spaniel. This beautiful girl loves people even though we scare her slightly - she craves people’s affection and attention. She is good with older children but may be a bit too needy to be around younger children. Barbara is good with other dogs but seems to prefer dogs that are the same size or bigger than her. She does not yet know how to walk on a lead but with time and  patience she will soon learn. Barbara would be best in a home with another dog so she can gain confidence with people and learn new skills such as house training.

11-09-19 UPDATE
Dear sweet Barbara has unfortunately has had to return to kennels from hr foster home, this is due to the the fact that she really does not like smaller dogs in the house and I have small dogs, Barbara is very people orientated and would possibly be considered as an only dog for the right family with someone around and someone who is aware of the work needed with an ex-breeding girl. She is learning to walk on a lead and needs to learn about house training which will take longer without another dog to copy. This girl so much wants to be your centre of attention and craves affection. If you think you can offer this living girl a very special home please apply today.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS
The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

In certain circumstances and in particular when it is one of our long term stayers or a dog who is difficult to home we may transport it down the M4 as far as Reading if the adopter is not able to travel for a valid reason. This will only happen on a Sunday and will be part of our Foster Run where we transport dogs to their foster homes. There will be and additional charge of £20 transport fee for this and the adopter must be able to travel to the allocated service station. Please think very carefully before asking for a dog to be transported as if you already have a dog there is no guarantee they will get along with the new dog or vice versa and you will need to be able to hold on to the dog until the following week and meet the van again if you wish to return the dog.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
