26-06-2019 Forest is a 4 year old pom who has come to us from a breeder. He is a very nervous boy but will settle in your arms eventually. He will need a home with a kind female resident dog or dogs to help show him the ropes about house training and teach him to walk on a lead.  Forest has never been inside a home so this will be new and strange for him at first but with time, love and patience he will love his new life and of course his new owner!

18-07-19 UPDATE

Hi guys my name is Forest and aren’t I just adorable? My kennel people think so smiley!!  I don’t walk on a lead yet but I am getting used to a harness so hopefully I’ll be out walking soon. I’m still a little nervous boy especially with loud sudden noises, I don’t like them they make me jump and want to run. It take doesn’t take me long to get to know new people and then I will say hello. I will need a home that’s calm and quiet so it helps me and will also need a resident dog so it helps me learn that home life is all ok. I really am a loving sweet dog and in the right home I think I will really start to come out!

10-08-19 UPDATE

I’ve worked with Forest a few times since he’s been here and he’s always put a smile on my face. He is still quite a nervous dog, but he’s so gentle and extremely cute. He enjoys head scratches and chin tickles and he really loves exploring our garden.
It hurts my heart that he’s still here, waiting for his forever home. Because he’s still quite nervous, he will need to be homed with a resident dog to teach him how to live like an actual dog. Forest is so sweet and he is a loving dog once he gets to know you - he loves giving me kisses! He is getting better on the lead but still needs more training, which he will be getting here at Many Tears.
He’s a very easy dog to handle; he had a bath last week and he was a very good boy. He just needs to be in a home with some lovely people who are willing to give him all the love, time and TLC they can possibly give. Please come down and see him, he will make your heart happy!

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS
The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

In certain circumstances and in particular when it is one of our long term stayers or a dog who is difficult to home we may transport it down the M4 as far as Reading if the adopter is not able to travel for a valid reason. This will only happen on a Sunday and will be part of our Foster Run where we transport dogs to their foster homes. There will be and additional charge of £20 transport fee for this and the adopter must be able to travel to the allocated service station. Please think very carefully before asking for a dog to be transported as if you already have a dog there is no guarantee they will get along with the new dog or vice versa and you will need to be able to hold on to the dog until the following week and meet the van again if you wish to return the dog.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
