If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

09-02-2019 Milkie arrived very early hours this morning after a long, rough trip from Ireland.  She is an ex-breeding Westie and is a real poppet.  When she arrived here she gently licked my hand which I like to think was for rescuing her.  Milkie was very dirty when she got here and is booked in to be bathed a little later today.  She likes the company of other dogs and will need at least one other canine companion in her new home who can teach her things like house training and show her how great it is to be loved by people.  Milkie is a calm and kind dog who really just needs that chance to find her forever home and live the happy life she truely deserves.  Milkie has what looks like hormonal allepecia which is basically hairloss due to an imbalance ih her hormones.  However, once she has been spayed this should grow back nicely, in fact it does already appear to be growing.  Milkie has her own passport.

13-02-19 UPDATE

Even though Milkie has only been here a few days, she is already happy to have a little walk around our site on a lead. She still needs to learn to walk on a harness but she wasn't afraid of being on the lead so this shouldn't take too long.
We feel Milkie would need to live with another dog to learn about house teaining and walking but there is a possibility that in the right circumstances , Milkie could live as an only dog.
This lady really deserves a shot at happiness in a loving home after years of being bred so if you would like to adopt her, please don't hesitate to apply.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS
The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

In certain circumstances and in particular when it is one of our long term stayers or a dog who is difficult to home we may transport it down the M4 as far as Reading if the adopter is not able to travel for a valid reason. This will only happen on a Sunday and will be part of our Foster Run where we transport dogs to their foster homes. There will be and additional charge of £20 transport fee for this and the adopter must be able to travel to the allocated service station. Please think very carefully before asking for a dog to be transported as if you already have a dog there is no guarantee they will get along with the new dog or vice versa and you will need to be able to hold on to the dog until the following week and meet the van again if you wish to return the dog.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
