24-01-19 - Meeka is a divine Bernese who has come from a breeder. She is super confident and happy. At present she has a lump on her front left leg which our vet will look at shortly. Meeka walks well on a lead and is happy, adventurous and very friendly. She is very matted and will need a good groom but given that she loves attention this shouldnt be an issue. Meeka is a confident dog but will need to learn all about housetraining in her new home which she will learn best with another dog to follow.  Given her giant breed we will need a home where any potential adopters would have had large dogs in the past.

25-01-19 UPDATE
Meeka has had X-Rays taken which have shown that she has elbow dysplacia on both front legs but sadly she is well beyong being able to be helped with surgical correction. Any discomfort she has needs to be helped with Anti inflammatory pain relief. Meeka is a beautiful girl in need of a very loving home.

12-02-19 UPDATE

Meeka has been in her foster home for a couple of weeks and is settling in very well. She is now feeling far more comfortable having had all her matted fur removed and a good bath. Meeka seemed to rather enjoy wearing and posing in her cosy pink Equafleece whilst she was drying off.
Meeka at the moment does need pain relief to ease her stiff elbows but once she has them she is full of life.
Meeka can be initially unsure in new situations but soon settles and is a cheeky playful girl that doesn’t let a painful elbow stop her enjoying life and getting out and about. She travels well in the car, settles well overnight and can be left with a doggy friend for a few hours.
Meeka needs a home with another sociable and playful doggy companion, where she can receive tlc and the love she craves. She is a truly beautiful girl inside and out and being typical of her breed meeka is a loyal and big hearted sweetheart.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
