22-11-2018 Chopper is a very nervous boy who will literally do anything to get away from you.  He doesn't walk on a lead yet so this will need lots of practice once he is settled in with his new family.  He will let you pick him up and does settle in your arms quite quickly considering he is so nervous.  Chopper just needs the right family and home to teach him how to trust people, with the right amount of time, love and attention we feel he will come along nicely.  Having another dog in his new home would benefit him greatly as he will be able to copy them and learn how to accept people and the love we have to offer him and he will watch and copy what they do which will help him with house training.

15-12-18 UPDATE
Chopper has come on since he first arrived at the kennels. Once a very nervous boy who would do anything to get away from you he is now a waggy tailed happy boy! Chopper is still nervous with sudden fast movements and loud noises but will happily come up to you, jump up to say hello and loves to have a treat from your hand.
Chopper walks perfectly on the lead by your side with other dogs or on his own. While walking he will always look at you for reassurance and carry on. Chopper is very nervous of cars and traffic but with time and patience he will over come this. He has so much love and affection to give. Chopper would do really well in a home with another dog to help with toilet training. His new forever family will be extremely lucky to have Chopper join them.

06-01-19 UPDATE

Today I had the chance to work with Chopper for a little while and what a lovely boy he is! He is still slightly nervous and jumps at sudden movements but is a very sweet boy. He walks great on a lead and enjoys to explore his surroundings he also gets on really well with his kennel friend. Chopper will come up to you slowly and will let you smooth him after a little while, he really enjoys treats and will take them gently from your hand. He is looking for a home where there is a resident dog to help him along with house training. He is a happy, friendly young boy all he needs now is that perfect family to take him home and show him how life should be.

14-02-19 UPDATE

Chopper is the sweetest lad. He is not very large only weighing about 15kg. Chopper is lovely with all the dogs here, and has happily coped with 14 other canine friends here in his foster home.
He does however, have a special friend Zinny, a small Labrador, who is a very similar size to him. They are both complete darlings and a joy to look after. In doors they are calm, and when playing, are not at all rowdy and rough, just funny and entertaining. Once out in my secure field they are thrilled to run and play chase at high speed, but always careful not to knock into myself or the other dogs. Their faces are pure joy. They have perfect recall, and readily jump back into the car when it's time to go home. Chopper is still a little timid. He needs another friendly, playful, dog in his new home, or it would be so wonderful if he and Zinny could find a home together. Chopper has a beautiful face with the most perfect heart shaped marking on his nose - he is a proper heart stealer.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
