If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

12-11-18 'Colete is a very nervous and hand shy ex breeding girl who probably hasn't had much interaction with humans at all until she come into us, she will literally try anything to get away from us and avoid contact, she can be quite flightly if given the chance.  She will need a very experienced home with another dog/dogs to show her how to understand and trust people and how wonderful her life will be when she learns how much love we have to offer her!  This poor girl really has had a rough start in life and deserves the best of the best from now on!  Colette doesn't walk on a lead yet so this will need lots of practice once she has settled into her new home and guidance from her new doggy friend who she will copy and learn housetraining from.

03-01-19 UPDATE

This is Colette who came to me 2weeks ago so very frightened,  but im pleased to say  is making  big steps towards living with people.  She is almost house trained I think if my door was open as it is in warm weather she would go down the garden of her own accord.   She loves the company of the other dogs and snuggles up to them now.  It will be a few more weeks before I even think about putting a harness on her , but when she is braver I think she will love seeing her world…she just watches the cats, but small children would worry her.

Colette is a happy contented little soul,   she will play with toys on her own ,but her favourite is playing with any of the playful dogs that’s here,  so she really needs a new buddy in her new home that will play too !
Colette is very clean indoors holding on  till she gets out, she is still nervous sometimes  and hasn’t managed her fear of the lead yet ,but will let me pat her head  without cowering away.  She learns quite quickly if treats are involved, she now waits for her food , and will sit for a treat  with  her big dark eyes looking at you with such trust .

04-04-19 UDATE
Colette has become the most lovely and happy little dog, and has come on a huge journey to start a new life. She travels quietly on a dog harness in a car, She is also walking around an estate ,and has done a walk with quite a lot of cars whizzing by and with encouragement kept going, walking down a lane is her favorite going flat to get the biggest sniff , this is all so new to her.
Colette still has small confidence issues but that’s when shes facing something new, and speaking calmly ,she copes after watching the other small dogs, that’s why she needs a confident playful new friend. Shes clean in the house and if the door is open pops outside herself. Shes called Lucky here,I think im the lucky one, as we have learnt together.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
