12-11-18 Cool is a very nervous ex breeding girl who is the most nervous of her kennel friends and sometimes can be flightly and looks to them for reassurance on times.  Although she is hand shy she will allow you to pick to her up but you can see the fear in her eyes.
Cool needs to live with another dog so she can copy them and learn things like walking on a lead and housetraining from.   She spends most of her time trying to hide as far back as possible and sheltered from the outside world. She needs time, patience and endless love. She will then learn to trust, learn to enjoy the sound of our voices and feel of gentle hands and start to look forward to every new day of her brand new life

03-01-19 UPDATE

Cool is a beautiful little soul She is a frightened little girl and very unsure of us humans. She will come out of the back of the kennel when she sees your there trying to follow her friends, but will back away as she's very nervous. She needs to learn that people will be kind to here and not hurt her It's makes me sad to see the little girl like this. She gets on well with her kennel friends and does look for reassurance from them she in with smaller dogs who are very happy girls. Cool is happy to go in and out of the yard when asked and is happy to be out having a sniff about. She will need a calm quiet house in which she can take her time to feel safe in. Cool needs a kind resident dog which will show her how to be a dog and be happy. I feel she would best be suited to someone who has had ex breeders at the moment as she is so scared. Cool is not toilet trained and does not walk on a lead so she will need to learn. Please visit her at the centre as she's beautiful inside and out. A very special girl

08-02-19 UPDATE

Cool (who we call Scout) has been on foster with us for 3 weeks now and while she is making progress, it is very slow. She is terrified of people and is very skittish.  She is learning to walk on a long line lead as she will not walk close enough to use a normal lead, although her love of treats is helping.  She adores my pack and gets comfort from snuggling up with them. She watches them very closely and I know is trying to trust us, as they do.
Scout is not yet fully housetrained but is dry in her crate overnight.
Scout is going to need a home experienced with ex breeders and someone who is confident enough to gently push her boundaries so that she continues to learn how lovely human touch can be. She would be terrified of children so a home without children is a must.  An existing confident, kind, non dominant older dog will be the perfect companion for her as she is not currently able to cope with a younger dog trying to play.  This little girl has the potential to be a happy, cheeky little Beagle, given time, love and patience.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.
