07-03-19 Truckle has been returned from his home as he has elbow dysplacia and abnormal development of the cartilage in his knee. He has gone straight into foster with a member of staff and is very happy there. He runs and plays around the smallholding showing no outward signs of any problem but it seems likely he could develop arthritis at some time in the future. When he first arrived with us as a puppy we believed he had a mild for of megaoesophagus and he copes well being fed upright. Truckle is a wonderful boy with so much love to give and really deserves to be given a chance to shine and be loved.

14-03-19 UPDATE

Truckle has been very well looked after in his previous home, he has come to us as a very well adjusted and well socialised dog who is totally clean in the home.He has excellent recall and who on command will sit, give paw and spin.
He is currently residing with six large breed dogs of varying ages but all much older than himself. Truckle sleeps soundly on my bed at night so as to give the older resident dogs a peaceful nights sleep. He loves to play with his toys either with myself or he is content to do so alone.
On arrival he seemed to prefer people to other dogs, but now he absolutely loves the company of his canine companions, for this reason  any prospective applicant would be required to have a resident friendly natured dog who would be willing to play , but not too exuberantly due to his elbow dysplasia.
In true labrador style.
Truckle loves his food, when his food has been prepared he will run ahead and place his two front paws on a bench so as to be in the desired upright position to eat his food (due to megoesophgus) this is something he automatically does, we have never once asked him to do this. His dietary intake is minced raw meat with water added for ease of swallowing.
Truckle had seen the vet, it has been decided that he should lead a normal life with the freedom to run and plaĆ½,  and to enjoy his adolescence to the full.
As  a travel companion he is amazing, we have travelled many miles together, him sitting on the front seat  safely strapped in wearing a harness.
Anyone interested in sharing your life and home with this precious boy, will need to have thoroughly researched elbow dysplasia and megaoephagus and to be mindful that insurance will not cover existing conditions.
Do not consider adopting Truckle because you feel sorry for him,  he is so very happy and thoroughly enjoying life.
