09-11-18 Humble is a terrifeid girl who panics when people go near her and doesn't let people handle her at the moment. She will need an experienced dog savvy owner who has lots of time and patience to work through her fears and help her in time adjust to accepting love and affection from people.  She will need another friendly dog to copy and learn from.  Humble really needs a miracle as we feel nobody will want to help her besides us! She really deserves a chance to feel love and live the life she truly deserves.  Please, if you are experienced with scared dogs, have a calm home and a heart big enough to help her please consider our special little Humble

12-02-19 UPDATE
Humble is a very special girl, in need of a very special family and home. Humbles previous initial write up, sadly still stands.
She has now become my project dog, and is also being worked with by the managers. She is still not comfortable with being handled, and will react in utter panic and fear if she thinks we are going to handle her, and when we do.
She would benefit enormously from going into foster ASAP. She will need to go into foster with an extremely experienced fosterer who has worked with very frightened dogs. Her forever home will need to be an adult only home, where her family will be extremely understanding and patient with her. Humble gets picked up twice a day and care is taken doing so. She is picked up slowly and carefully using a towel around our hands. She then gets to go outside to play as a reward and as part of her daily routine, as well as to keep her happy.
She is more comfortable with people she knows well handling her, but she is still very nervous and frightened. At the moment, staff who don't know her very well have to stroke her with a fake hand to start her getting used to being handled.
Humble LOVES to run around the sandschool and play yard, especially with her male friend. This is when she is at her happiest. She leaps and bounds like a little lamb and it is lovely to see her enjoying herself so much.
Her other love is food! She loves treats and will take one out of our hands when she is offered them! Humble shares her beds, food, and toys perfectly.
She prefers the company of male dogs so at the moment will need to be homed with a male forever friend.  As stated before, Humble really needs a miracle, as we feel nobody will want to help her besides us! She really deserves a chance to feel love and live the life she truly deserves. Please, if you are experienced with scared dogs, have a calm home and a heart big enough to help her please consider our special little Humble.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

The adoption fee for an adult dog (6 months and over) is £220 and for a puppy is £250, However if the dog has a passport you will be given this when you adopt and we ask for a further £20 to help us buy a passport for another dog. You will find a break down of what the adoption fee covers under our Adoption Procedures (see link below) If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

In certain circumstances and in particular when it is one of our long term stayers or a dog who is difficult to home we may transport it down the M4 as far as Reading if the adopter is not able to travel for a valid reason. This will only happen on a Sunday and will be part of our Foster Run where we transport dogs to their foster homes. There will be and additional charge of £20 transport fee for this and the adopter must be able to travel to the allocated service station. Please think very carefully before asking for a dog to be transported as if you already have a dog there is no guarantee they will get along with the new dog or vice versa and you will need to be able to hold on to the dog until the following week and meet the van again if you wish to return the dog.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
